HDFC MILLENNIA unknown refund

As you can see in the highlighted transaction, i do not recall asking for a refund for bus ticket and even if i did the amount should be different, yet the bank refunded me some random amount. Should i contact hdfc and let them know they goofed up?

Whatever will be done will be within the next statement cycle only; if I were in your place, I would have skipped contacting the bank, although it's your wish.

For 1000 smartbuy u need atleast 20000rs spend . Did u spend that much on smartbuy ?

Or u might have cancelled some redbus ticket . Or transaction failure previously

It's more likely HDFC mistake, they are well known established to make a mistake like this. Refunding to a different customer or bank accounts are normal, they audit later and reverse, but the timeline for that to happen is not consistent.

My doubt is, from your transaction list, you were done a transaction on redbus 22/05, but the refund is later with a different amount. Check the redbus history to know any cashback or other things.

Looks valid to me.

For each redbus transaction, you got 5% smartbuy cashback.

This particular cancellation, they credited 1050 and deducted equivalent 5% smartbuy cashback 52.5.

Check once.

FYI, bus tickets refunds usually doesn't contain internet handling fee, platform fee etc. so, it never equals what we paid.

actually they only add gst nowadays, rest all charges are included in ticket, also went through the transactions and couldnt find any transaction amount similar to this, maybe an error from their side.
