I dont think so, I had premium salary account with them for 5 years but not offered any free DC.
just this month I got upgraded to Preferred account.

I have Saving Max account and DC is free.

Just got on a call with cc, they said issuance fee and maintenance charges applicable. But I don't think he knew what he was doing, must have checked for normal savings account

Bro HDFC has different schemes with different corporates. Hence, you can't exactly from Customer Care. HDFC/ICICI can declare many other charges but practically they never deduct such. Better to discuss this with your branch/RM. If they are saying free, ask them mail proof

There are two types of salary account debit cards.

Salary account with free platinum card and
Salary account with free millennia card.

Goto the branch and inquire about this. You can also call your branch(if you have the direct number for the branch) to get the details.

If you have classic/preferred/imperia relationship, then platinum is free.

I guess you will be having basic or classic account. In case your average monthly balance is above 1 lakh, call them and request for an upgrade to preferred account. That will get you the free debit card. I’m fact, I don’t maintain any balance in hdfc account but still got an upgrade. Call your RM & push for an upgrade.

Even classic account has free platinum DC.
