I’m 18 years and 3 months old, and I have a savings account with HDFC. My monthly expenses typically range from 70,000 to 80,000, mostly for credit card bill payments. On a serious note, it's a waiting game to get the pre-approved offer. Pre-approved offer doesn't guarantee issuance of a credit card. It's better to wait till you are 21 to get offers since most banks don't (or hesitate to) issue a credit card to someone who is 18.

Fd card is just a start. In your bank account every month deposit/ credit and spend below 50% of deposit/credit. Do this full 6 months you will get first offer. 2nd offer after 3 months and 3rd offer after 3 months take the 3rd offer and you ate good to go
