(Help required) After applying for add on card, add on card no. and a completely new card no. visible in my account. Primary card no. not visible !

Hi, guys, I really need help with this from you. This strange issue is baffling me.

I have SBI SimplyClick CC and my primary card no. is XXX7. Recently I applied for a add on card. But ever since the the add on card was approved , my primary card is changed everywhere / vanished ! . In its place a new card (no. XXX9) is showing, in addition to the add on card no. XXX4. So now my primary card no. is being shown as XXX9 and add on card no. as XXX4. Please check the attached screenshot for reference.

But the thing is my original primary card no. XXX7 continues to work both online and offline., So overall I have two primary cards?! (XXX7 and XXX9) (see the attached screenshot).

I also received message that add on card no. XXX4 and second/new primary card no. XXX9 have been dispatched through courier.

So I am mainly confused about how I should make CC Bill payments, should I make repayment to old card no. or new card no. ? Will my payment go to someone else? Will my old card no. cease to work once I receive new card?

So guys could you share your opinions and suggestions on it? I am in dilemma. Anyone else faced this issue too?

That's not my question.

My concern is there are three cards on my account! Two primary cards and one add on card.


I don't understand why a new primary card number is generated and what happened to my previous primary card.

Sbi has a policy of generating new primary card everytime you get an addon Your original primary will cease to work within 24-48 hours.
You can go ahead and make payments to your existing card (if its still working) or the new one generated as it doesnt matter as all are under one account.
If still unsure, just call up the customer care

Many many thanks for clearing my confusion.

I think SBI should mention this thing when applying for or after applying for a add on card so as to reduce confusion among customers.

It would have. Same thing happened with me. Old card is not working now.
Any idea when can we apply for another Add-on card ? Is there a buffer period or something ? While applying I am getting an error “couldn’t proceed due to technical glitch in the system”.

I think this might have been a temporary glitch with SBI which is now fixed. It also doesn't make sense as it's pretty wasteful for them to do it on purpose.

I don't think it's temporary glitch.
Recieved new primary card. Other TF members said same thing.

Not a glitch it's related to the availability of BIN, because the first 12 digits are the same for the primary and add-on cards

Did they also closed the account on cibil and generated new account?
They closed mine and generated new account in cibil

This may be card specific and may not apply to the newer products? In my case, I had got add-ons to SBI Cashback and Vistara Prime without a new primary.

2 new cards so can be used separately(subject to offer terms of amz/flpkrt)
No CIBIL hits whatsoever(only addition/deletion of new/old cards in your cibil profile)
