Never been to Kashmir. Please help me with a solo budget trip.

1. Mid April (within 10th to 20th April) will be good time to visit?
2. No idea which place is good to visit, Srinagar/Jammu/Leh. I will only go to airports where AI flies to from Delhi.
3. Please help with 5-7 days of itinerary.

Thank you.

I had been there in month of May. I will suggest following:
Day 1 & 2 - Srinagar - 1 night stay in Boat House. You can cover Shikara ride on Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens/Nishat Garden, Shankaracharya Temple,
Day 3. Gulmarg: Gondola Ride and snow activities. I will not suggest staying there as it is very costly. But if you want you can stay one night there.
Day 4.Pahalgam - One night stay - Mini Switzerland, Betaab Valley and Aru Valley
Day 5 & 6 Sonmarg : 1 night stay - Glacier, Sindh River, Nature excursion, Snow activities
Day 7 - Return Flight

This is a good itinerary. Thanks for sharing.

What about mobile internet? I am recharged for long term, so can't change to postpaid. Internet and phone calls both won't work right?

postpaid sim works there. I dont know about prepaid one. Please verify.
Prepaid sims purchased outside of J&K don't work here. Better to convert existing prepaid to postpaid. Or u can purchase a new prepaid sim just outside airport. But yes, they will charge u more.
Another option is to check if you could buy Airtel or Jio pre-on-post sim at your place. That will also work.

What is this? Please elaborate
Pre-on-post is a hybrid type of sim used by almost everyone in J&K. It allows prepaid recharges while enjoying Postpaid benefits.
For this Jio offers "MNP MRP 10 Plan" and Airtel offers " ₹10 JK10 Plan". We have to pay monthly bill of Rs 10 to stay on postpaid. For calls and internet, regular prepaid recharges done.
You can check in your area store if they can issue you sim on this plan or not.
