Axis Atlas How do I dispute a transaction on my Axis Bank Credit Card?

I used an Axis Atlas Credit Card to book business class flights on Etihad Airways on BOM-AUH-BOM in late-October. The flights were on November 6 and November 10.

On the return, November 10, I was involuntarily downgraded from Business to Economy because of a change in aircraft. The airline promised a 400 USD credit to my bank account (note: bank account, not credit card) but after the 30-45 day period, this is nowhere in sight.

I have no option but to dispute this transaction and file a chargeback.

Question:

1. How do I go about this? Should I use this form?
2. Should I dispute it for 400 USD? Note that I flew in both directions, but one was an economy ticket. The initial amount paid was ~Rs. 68,000 in INR.

When you say Airline promised 400 USD, how did they do it? Is their documentary evidence? How are they going to transfer the amount to your bank? Is it in India? And from Etihad India?

I hope you have your boarding pass with the date stamp of the return journey.

Chargeback might be a trivial scenario IMO

Yes - they said this at the check-in desk, and it is tagged to my PNR and I also have an email from them. They said they would transfer it to my Axis Bank account. I even provided the SWIFT Code to them via call.

Not from Etihad India, but Etihad UAE.

Might be easier to wait on Etihad for some more days. Usually the timeline only considers working days, unless anyone here has faced this before and had to only rely on chargeback. In most scenario since you took the flight it might get denied.

The companies based in UAE follow utmost efficiency and will deliver on their promise no matter what.

Filing a dispute could likely delay the process, I would recommend escalating it to Etihad first, asking them for more clearer timelines and information and then if all fails then keep the dispute as the last option.

(Filing a dispute on a flight that you already traveled on could also get you banned from the airlines so be careful)

The branch in question is in Chennai but I am currently in Mumbai. Is it possible for me to do this via customer care?
