How long does RBI BO take to move the complaint?

I registered a complaint on RBI BO almost a month ago and I have not received any communication or status update since then.
The Status hasn't changed as shown in the image.

While I see people complaining on RBI BO and receiving updates from banks within a few days/weeks.
For me, it's dead silence for a month!!

I am wondering if this delay is normal or if something wasn't done right by me during the complaint filling.

Is there any method or email to connect to ask for such a delay?

Really don't know.
the RBI BO Expert of this forum has been able to get within a few months ( I suppose the RBIO of his region is good )

My case is still pending at 1st stage since 4+ months now...

Sadly their is no applelate entity for delayed ombudsman . You have to wait & wait . Usually at max 4 month you would get response.

This is quite normal. I am not sure where has OP seen closure within a month.
I wasn't talking about complete complaint resolution or closure within a month but rather just an update for the new complaint.
I have seen a lot of cases where people at least received an update regarding their complaint from the bank within a month, but of course, a full-length of complaint timeline till its closure will probably stretch to many months, involving multiple back and forth of communication.
I am not sure how long it takes just to receive the first update itself and I think it varies among people, some might get it in a short time, and for some it may take months.

In 2023, I had an issue with ICICI, and I didn't even wait 30 days and made a complaint through CPGRAMS, it was forwarded to RBI and they forwarded it to ICICI.
Literally in one day, I got a call from their headquarters and by the next day, they resolved it. The whole thing took 2-3 days max.
This is the first time I went to RBI BO directly and It's been a month since hearing even a single word from the bank.
So I guess its quite normal to take such time if directly went to RBI BO.
I will wait for a month and will go through CPGRAMS instead.

Complain on Cpgram it helps mine was pending fir a month but upon receiving the Complaint got reply within 10 days
True. My previous complaint on cpgram was resolved within few days by the bank. This is the first time I am directly going through RBI BO.
And I think within a year, the number of complaint loads has also increased since people are more aware of such schemes now, so it's natural to take some time as the year passes by.
But One month just for an initial update seems far too stretched.
I will wait another month, if no update is received I will file a complaint on CPGRAM regarding my other complaint that RBI is delaying...LOL 🤣

😳

could you share some more info on it.. like the details on complaint; what exactly did you write on cpgram/ the procedure....
Yes frist go to cpgrams website login create a account then login with phone no. Or email I'd the go to grievance and to file a public grievance than select banking complaint then select entity as reserve bank of India the you can just write my complaint has been pending since a long time with the complaint I'd and also attached a screenshot of complaint I'd if you want then submit you will get complaint reference no

CPGRAM is a very potent tool to skim bureaucracy.
Maybe for now.
I have used CPGRAM since 2022 and made many complaints regarding banking, Post office, Electricity board, and many others. It always got resolved within a week max.
This is the first time I went through RBI BO and this is the end result, dead silence!!
I think, as time passes by, these complaint systems get overloaded with complaints, and we start seeing their "come after lunch" government official attitude resulting in these kinds of huge delays.
For sure even CPGRAM one day will stretch complaints for months.
If a govt system is working too good and responding quickly, it's better to assume it's not loaded enough with enough work.
RBI keeps framing deadlines for other institutions and they don't have a deadline for their own BO system. which is surprising.

Difference between CPGRAMS and RBIO New

CPGRAMS and RBIO are 2 different things. Where you should raise your complaint depends on your objective.

If you need a quick resolution and not looking for any compensation you should take the CPGRAMS route. If you are looking for a resolution and a compensation you should complaint to RBIO.

So explains why most people go down RBI route. Some compensation for the trouble.
But arent people complaining about RBI to CPGRAMS? If so, in that case, RBI will settle with compensation as deemed fit?

Yes. I am aware of it, and not every scenario is worth pursuing for compensation. Sometimes, a faster resolution is far more important, but it's totally a personal choice.
I don't remember if CPGRAMS has a compensation option for banking complaints, as I haven't used it in a while. Even if the option is not there, compensation can be demanded in the complaint description, if that works.
Complaining on RBIO for compensation and then complaining on CPGRAMS against RBI if they delay too much in complaint redressal is a better option IMO, at least better than waiting around 4+ months.
