My first IPO was LIC (May 2022). I got in both policyholder and general category
After that I've applied 32 times, starting in November 2023 and not got a single one
I've always applied via ASBA through IDFC
What has been your experience so far?

It's pure luck. There is nothing much you can do.

Govt based IPO apply min quantity - as they target at giving to max number of subscribers. For other IPOs try applying for more lots.

But everything depends only on luck when it comes to IPO & subscription status.

Last IPO allotment was UTI AMC in 2020 🤣🤣
Uske baad se bas amount block aur release ka endless cycle chal rha hai 🤣🤣

Allotment to theek hai.

Do IPO's even give good returns @knight ?

(Hope I tagged the same person I am thinking about)
I don't spend much time researching IPOs.
Except for 10-20% well-known brands.. like mankind, TataTech.. It's hard to determine the actual value of the stock especially startups and less known companies.

It's great for a quick bet on listing gains based on the hype and industry demand. But I've never held on to IPO stocks after listing as that's when price discovery starts.

Since COVID time... Almost 9 out of 10 IPOs opened with good premium...
Except a few ones like LIC, Paytm, UTI AMC, SBI card...
Some even doubled money on first day itself
