How to change variant of Airtel Axis CC from mastercard to visa variant?

Not possible. Visa variant is retired from what I know.

You can't. Now the card is issued on MasterCard only. VISA was the initial partner when MasterCard was still coming out of issuance ban.
From what I remember, it was Visa signature that had its own benefits. So, switching to MasterCard network was basically a devaluation.

I have 3 cards from Axis: Ace, Airtel and Neo (Visa/Master) variants. On pre-approved section I see Error Code MLP-4031 what does that mean? I don't have SB account with Axis
You have reached your card limit with Axis bank. Cancel any one card to apply for a new one online.

Interestingly, I applied for Airtel-axis Rupay variant around 6 weeks ago - I got declined back then by the bank post KYC with reason "Internal reasons". My suspicion is that could be due to already holding Airtel-Axis Mastercard variant and same customer applied for second variant card is the reason.
Wondering, how does it make a difference to the bank when the ask is for cards with annual fee. Now I am seeing few members having more than 2 axis card either same type or different category with them. Keep reaping benefits guys until the loophole survives.

That's why mentioned the word "online". You can apply for the 4th or 5th card offline. Approval is not guaranteed though as it depends on customer's profile.

There was a banner on cashkaro website and on axis bank app as well. I chose cashkaro however from either of the routes it will go through standard steps of cibil score check >> vkyc>>Final decision.

No. I'm saying that Axis is not issuing Visa Airtel cards anymore (like magnus). If you hold Visa Airtel, You'll get a Visa card on renewal and replacement.
There goes my desire to see some color on my card.

i applied offline for this card around march this year.
i got visa. still hold it.

Paste a Rupay sticker on it.
But seriously, just “upgrade” it within the app. Can’t switch between Visa and Master, but Rupay is happily done. Weird rules.

Tap your Airtel card in the app. They will force Rupay on you front and centre.
