How to get maximum value from Diners Club Black CC?

Just got the DCB card delivered as LTF using the alumni program. What are some ways to maximise the benefits of this card?
1. Try combining smartbuy portal with exisiting HDFC offers where you can
2. Try hitting 80K monthly expense for additional value back of ~Rs. 1,000 in form of TataCliq and Ola Vouchers
3. Try hitting 8L per year for annual benefits (you can google to find what they are)
4. Try to space out major purchases so that you don't hit daily point cap of 2.5K
5. Get Dineout passport membership with your HDFC card

But but but.. Most important point is.. to maximise the benefits of DCB, you should be regularly travelling through flights... and booking those tickets via smartbuy. Suggesting only flights bcoz Flight rates on smartbuy are still competitive but hotels are little expensive 😅
.
One more point - Do get instant vouchers from smart buy if you regularly buy from flipkart/myntra/bigbasket or various other sites voucher available on smartbuy. Paying from vouchers is better if no promotional other offers are running on these websites as you get 3x RPs on instant vouchers which is equivalent to 10% discount.

What are the other promotions you are refering to? Are they on Smartbuy or flipkart/myntra/bigbasket?
I do plan to redeem them on flights, will upgrade from train to flights now :-D

I have decided to buy these insta vouchers from gyftr every month - Amazon (5k max limit), Flipkart and Mynta (when needed 10max limit), Swiggy (3k monthly expense) and BB (3k monthly expense). All of them are giving a ~10%value (amazon is 6.3%).
Is this the best value for these sites or some better option available for using DCB onsmartbuy?

Are annual benefits and welcome benefits same?
If yes, I read that I will get them on spend of 1.5lac in first 3months?
I plan to acheieve that easily since I will use this to pay rent and NPS contribution.

By them i mean, flipkart or amazon offers which are about to come in big billion day sales etc stuff. like Instant 10% off on xyz credit cards.

As per my knowledge, you are on the right track. I do the same whenever possible.

Yes. 1.5L in first 3 months to get those annual membership offers and 8L in year to renew them.

Thanks for the details.

Copying the experience I have shared earlier today on another thread here -

I got my card delivered last week. Sharing my experience below -
Got contact of the an RM(CC dept.) for Mumbai from a reference, called him and he asked a few details about existing relationship with HDFC and asked me to keep the below documents handy - Payslip last 3 months, College degree and Passport/DL/Voterid.
A person was sent from bank to collect the documents from my office and I had filled up the offline form. I also filled up a limit split document since I already have a Regalia LTF(7lac limit), and I wanted to keep it (thinking it was stupid decision now).
Finally the limit was split as 2lac in regalia and 5lac in DCB.
Card got delivered in 2 weeks. The application tracking on HDFC website was useless always showed status as "dispatch".
Got verification calls from the call center twice, which was strange but when I asked the 2nd person, he said we call multiple times, you can expect another call.
Since there was no change in application status, I called my bank account RM to move things up. After 2 reminders he got the application process moving and the card was delivered.

Some more suggestions - Enroll for global value program. It will give 1% cashback for international transactions upto 1000Rs I guess. From 2% forex markup it will come down to 1%. It gives some welcome points too. IIRC it is 500 I guess and some vouchers based on yearly forex spend.

If using trains frequently, use Smartbuy as it has 3x rewards.

For flight ticket booking, it is 5x rewards but because of 2500 points per day cap, please restrict to 15k value of Booking if possible.

If you have any electronics spend and using Croma like offline store, better to buy as vouchers from Smartbuy as it gets 3x. Many other offline vouchers also available in Smartbuy for retail like Max, lifestyle, More
etc.

For weekend dining, 2x dining rewards are there in offline restaurants.

Don't forget that there is monthly cap of 7500 points for accelerated rewards which is calendar month. So use appropriately to maximize value.

Why to you think Limit split was stupid decision

I think keeping the regalia was a stupid one, I wont really use it and in future if I want to go for Infinia, it might be some trouble. Might say rules like you cant have more that 2 cards of HDFC, etc.
