How to get One Card metal variant replacement free?

Hi,

I am using one card since a long time and recently I lost / misplaced this card. As of now I have not reported it to them . Just blocked all transactions and activate whenever I need to do some online transactions.

Can you guys suggest a way of getting this card replacement for Free. The metal variant replacement is ₹3000.

Also want to know if this metal card expires will the bank send me a new card for free.

Which Bank issued it?
Mostly you will not get a free replacement. You have to pay for the card. Else use it as you are using it now.
Another suggestion is to try saying that your card details is compromised and ask them for a replacement. Let's see what they reply to you.

Yes, replacement is free when it expires.

Yes, replacement is free when it expires.

It was issued by South Indian Bank.

If I say the card details are compromised I need to back it up by why I feel so. What could be a fail proof reason.

For Card expiry there is still time over a year.

You have to figure it out. My suggestion would be if you misplaced your wallet in a public place but it was returned to you after sometime, now you think your card details might be compromised.

in my case, with a different bank I asked the agent itself in which case i won't have to pay the charges.

I read somewhere on this forum they had to send back the compromised card to issue a replacement.

Tell them existing card wouldn't working on any pos at stores. They will reissue a free replacement for you.
Confirm charges which must be free at the time of reissue.

First talk to them pos wouldn't working. Generally they didn't ask for proof but If they ask for video proof then tell them videography not allowed inside store. If still they refuses then will look for some other way later.

I did tell the POS not working below is their response

Create a separate thread and ask there for a error screen of one card or if you can make possible then request to someone who have one card, just tell him to put card on pos and pullout suddenly after put in then immediately start recording in which transaction wouldn't process and get failed.

Otherwise

Request them to issue a plastic card instead of metal at a nominal charge also request them to waive off this charge for plastic replacement.

Why would you want metal card specifically. You want to have a card in physical form, just use plastic one. Not sure what real life difference would it make in the usability?

You have to report as soon as you lose it. Don't play with money.

Also OTP not needed for international transactions. And even if it's blocked some international transactions have gone through on One card for me. I know it's weird but I'm just stating what happened
