ICICI Coral CC payment was delayed by 5 days. Cibil impact?

Hello all,

I was traveling and missed my ICICI coral CC payment, 1400, by 5 days. The due date is 3rd April and I paid it fully on 9th April. They've levied 500 + GST as late payment charges and I spoke to the RM he said he can't do much about the charges but will talk to his team about CIBIL and asked me to speak to customer care. I spoke with them and they reversed the 500rs charges excluding the GST as I explained to them the complete situation and all the relationships I hold with ICICI.
Now my question is will they report it to CIBIL? I cleared all the dues and paid even more to the card. I am planning to apply for a home loan in 6 months. Thanks.

Well, considering they've even reversed the charges, they'll very likely remove the cibil report too. So you should not be worried, just keep following up and get it done.

Usually, the banks will remove the report to cibil, but not the Late fees. In your case, since late fees itself is removed, politely following up with them will get your work done. But please note that there's no obligation on the bank and they're only do it on a goodwill basis for you.

Like @Shoxie said as they have already reversed charges most likely they won't report. Generally most banks they report later (with some exception like au/rbl).

If you have good track record, they'll give you a pass. But again tone of your mail shouldn't be demanding/threatening. Icici is very cool in this regard.

No don't give false hope
ICici reported 1 rs late payment to cibil
Charges reversal isn't equal to false reporting

you will get delay reported in cibil.most likely

Depends. He has made full payment within a week. Till now they wouldn't have reported it. So this case is easier.

Once reported , taking it back is harder. Because it might be perceived as correction of their mistake.

In most cases bank don't report for small amount(<100) if you have a good track record. Only the unluckiest people will be reported for 1rs. What also matters is how you request? If someone acts entitled, they won't revert it.

Hey, should I mail them? RM said he will check with his credit team but hasn't called me yet.

I think they're reporting to the CIBIL on the statement date itself. So, should I mail them or again call the CC? CC said the reporting is automated and RM said he doesn't have much idea but will check with their credit team (I wonder if such a team exists). Also, one more thing is I didn't even pay the min due amount which is just 100 by the due date.

Yes. Mail or Call. If you call ask them to transfer it to senior official but phone banking agents don't handle cibil issues.

In these cases, faster you react, better. Icici generally report at the time of bill generation which should be 14( right?).

If you have mailed earlier, put another mail to nodal officer. They have the authority to stop it. Reiterate your banking relationship and payment history.

Also mention you want to take hl after 6m and leaning towards icici for good experience till now.

Yes, my statement generation date is April 16th. okay. I have just mailed customer care and headservicequality. Fingers crossed.

Hi all, I learned that ICICI reports to Cibil once every 2 months from the forum, and for me, they reported on 16/03/2024 i.e. the last billing date, and for April they've not reported. So, my question is if I close the card right away will they report it or it's status of the card go to close? I've HDFC Infnia and I don't need the ICICI card. I only took it because it's LTF. Suggestions, please? I've paid more than the statement amount like 5k to the card and they levied 170rs finance charges and I'm okay with that too. As I mentioned, need to apply for a home loan very soon.
