Idea of building a similar forum

I am currently studying in an University, and as we know there is no such community for students, teachers, administration and other stakeholders. What if I build one is the curious idea in my mind!
What will I need? (Ofc, other than 🤑)
How much time will it take?
Can I really build it on my own? (😁)
Please enlighten me with all your knowledge & experiences...
Let's discuss.

There are many free resources available in YouTube to help learn about how to setup this kind of forum. I will advice against buying any paid courses unless you can actually afford it.

Network effect!
If you're product gets rolling and if it reaches a 'critical mass' , then it may succeed. Until then it will be a long struggle.

You may find money.
You may find time.
You may/may not find the courage in your heart to struggle through. Ruminate and think if you can see it through.

Don't be disheartened if one fails. Make 10 more projects.
If one fails, make another iteration of it.

Anyone can do anything..

Its upto you and your capability. I don't know you, don't know your interests, don't know your patience level, don't know your knowledge grab level. But as said, anyone can do anything.

Great words by @vine @helloworld
I guess I will go ahead and search YT then!

Any suggestions from @TechnoFino or an IT guy that can guide me ahead....

P.S. I'm currently studying BBA with no background in coding or any other platforms which could help me build the website. But, I'm a techy with a hunger to learn and grow....

I would suggest building your network or gaining followers on social media before starting a forum.

Before that, you must know what skill you are really good at as this is what it takes to run the forum.

You may also join an existing forum, where you can contribute, learn and perform admin and moderator duties to get a taste of what else is involved.

Other than that, competition from existing forums will always be there.

Thanks!!

This platform itself is a SaaS product provided by Xenforo (check the details at the bottom of this page)... These are bigger companies who have already built such saas products at scale

Hence rather than building such thing from scratch via coding, it is probably more important to focus on business angle, such as gaining traffic, increasing the daily active users, social media marketing, building affiliate streams, building monetisation via ad income etc....
