IDFC created duplicate entry in my CIBIL, and did not close one account in CIBIL

I used OLA postpaid for a short period, but when I closed the OLA postpaid, they didn't close my associated IDFC loan account. And then October 2023, I mailed them, after a lot of follow up, they closed the account.

Fast forward to this year October, I see another account by IDFC that was still in Active state, I'm following up with them to close it.
The difference between both accounts is in account number, one account number is "123XXX" and another account number is "OLA-123XXX", I confirmed with IDFC that it's the same account and they have added duplicate entry.

The second account has been active for at least for 1 year after it was closed. Is this a valid case for asking monetary compensation? I asked it to IDFC team, and they wanted one mail communication from Cibil saying that my score was indeed affected because of two loan account, one account being marked as active for more than an year.

Is it worth going through all the hassle, how much would they give as compensation? And has anyone else has gone to CIBIL for proof asking that it was indeed affected?

the effect it had doesn't matter. it is their responsibility by law to report loan accounts data properly to CIBIL. due to banks ignoring this, RBI had to bring the 100/- per day rule. i'd suggest mailing them with one last try about going to RBI BO. otherwise, do raise it at RBI. there's no hassle here.
