I know that if I opt to close oldest card it affects credit age not sure if upgrade will have same effect ?

An upgrade won't affect. If the bank closes this account and opens a new account as an upgrade, then it will.

Axis will give you upgraded card as a separate card without closing your myzone. Just confirm once with customer care.

The thing is since 2018 I have not received any pre-approved limit enhancement offers. I have had to submit my ITR in order to request an enhancement. Some people have told me that unless I upgrade my card, I will not receive a limit enhancement offer.

Yes please also tell what happens in case of HDFC Regalia First to HDFC Infinia upgrade.
As they have a policy of issuing only 1 card per customer.

My existing Regalia First card is about 14 years old, don't want to spoil the vintage of this card while upgrading to Infinia.
Will they retain the credit account age or will they erase it and start afresh as new.

My credit age is about 6 years and six months, but I don't hold any active credit card since 6 years. I think they consider closed cards also in credit age
