In the absence of a forex card, which is better: HDFC Infinia or Amex Travel/Platinum Charge?

Hi Guys,

Have two questions:

1. I don't have a forex card, so going to use my existing cards. But which is better in terms of lower FX markup? HDFC Infinia or Platinum Travel (or Platinum Charge Card)?
2. On a slightly different note, if we subscribe to online subscriptions/software - which is lower in terms of FX markup, or is it the same as if we're traveling?

Infinia with global value is better than any forex card I have come across

Plat travel is not so useful.

AFAIK, GVP is discontinued. Check out Yes Marquee card if you have time.

GVP is not discontinued. Many people activated it recently by calling customer care

I was looking for details on GVP to enroll for my upcoming international trip and found this. This is the only official place where anything about GVP was detailed as far as I know.

Yes, GVP is very much alive. I enrolled into it last month. Check screenshot attached.

I also enrolled in GVP after March and have been receiving cashback successfully. Infinia + GVP will be the best combo.

HDFC card with the Global value program activated is a better option. And better to go with Infinia over DCB, as Infinia is a visa card which is widely accepted. I faced acceptance issues with DCB in Singapore. It was hardly accepted anywhere.
