Recently, I have visited multiple different Bank, and they all have different different timing likes HDFC close at 3:30, BOB work till 4:30

Is there any rule regarding working hours for a branch or Bank

And in practical life, do branch or Bank follow them or not?

And as a aware customer, how can we make them to follow the rule about working hours?

Please share all your valuable experience, feedback, knowledge.

Banks have total freedom to fix weekly holiday (even on any workind day - not necessarily a weeknend day) and the office/business hours - continuous or split - of it's various branches, sub-offices, extension counters n administrative offices, besides training centres n other establishments.

Each branch/office will display their business timings for all to see n follow.

BEFORE TBC/FBC/CBS Days - i.e in pre-2000-2003 - All banks - Indian, Foriegn, Local, CoOp, Rural.... were kept open for customers for only 4 hours - usually 10am to 2pm - on weeks days n for only 2 hours - usually from 10am to 12 noon on Saturdays. But, for staff, the working hours were usually from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
In those days, there were no computers, no ATMs, no Netbanking and Mobile Nanking, No UPI.

For info.

There are multiple issues n multiple supervisors - Ministry of Finance (for ownersips, licensing n overall controls), RBI (for macro policy matters n compliance supervision) and IBA (for micro operational issues, wages n such industry standard issues). Operational rules n laws are following various Acts (BRA, NIA, FACTA, PMLA.....).
