IndusInd Tiger credit card cons and upgarde

Hello Everyone,

I recently got an Indusind credit card and have not activated it yet.
I have searched the internet and couldn't find answers to my question.

1. Since it's a Bajaj Capital Co-Branded credit card, will it increase in spam by Bajaj for their Sh**ty products?

I want to know from people who are already using this card if somehow they get the data and spam?

2. Is there a way to change the card to Legend?

After some thorough digging ( which happened after applying, my bad ), I figured I could have got Legend instead and could have got SELECT account as 0 MAB, which could give 1% on Forex ( which was the main reason to get Tiger for its 1.5 % ).
Now, Can I just request IndusInd customer care to switch/upgrade to Legend after few months of usage ( is it possible to upgrade from co-braded to core card? ) or do I have to apply for Legend separately?
Or I have to close the co-branded card and then apply for Legend again?
I am not able to properly get an answer through online search if I can get a CORE card by applying after few months if I still hold a Co-Branded card, or I have to close it and then apply or I can simply upgrade by requesting.

so what should be the course of action here? aiming for lowest forex( can't get uni, scapia, au ixigo, wealth ) and some other benefits like BOGO alongside it.

Thanks

EDIT: Don't mind the type error in the Title

I got Tiger card in November 2024. No other relationship with Indusind or Bajaj.
To answer your questions:
1. No I didnt get even a single spam/marketing call from Bajaj or any of their executives, products etc. Absolute 0 calls or messages from Bajaj.
2. You will keep getting a lot of calls from Indusind executives/agents because your number willl be widely shared with them. I get at least 1 call in 2 weeks saying that I am eligible for LTF Indusind card. They would just know that you have a pre-approved offer. They don't know any of your other details. Just tell that you already have an Indusind card. So they will end the call.
3. Wait for a few weeks or 1-2 months. Last week I got a call from an Indusind executive and she told me that even though I hold Tiger, I can still get Legend. She even checked with her supervisor and confirmed. I told her to call me next week. I am still in 2 minds whether to take Legend or not, because if I proceed, it will be a CIBIL hit and later if they tell that it is not Legend but something else, I don't want that to happen.
4. After opening Indusind 0 MAB account you need to wait for 3 months to link Legend and upgrade it to Select. There are posts here saying that even with Legend, Indusind might change the criteria and ask to maintain higher MAB in Select. (Not sure, but chances are there). Lastly, I am not very excited about Select, so I may not proceed as well.

So If I get Legend in the future I have to open a 0 MAB account and link the card or open a SELECT account and then link the card? or does it work both ways?

For me I won't mind extra cibil hit as I have observed it doesn't do much in the long run.
I had like 7-8 hard enquiries in the previous month and was expecting IndusInd to reject the application and yet they approved it.

Good question 🙂
Read this thread fully to know the pros and cons of both approach:

Thanks.
To my understanding from that thread,
If I open SELECT first, I can instantly link the card and convert to 0 MAB.
But, if I open any other variant/regular first, I have to wait 3 months minimum to upgrade.

I guess, I should activate tiger card and wait for 3-6 months to get any upgrade offer to LEGEND or apply separately.
Will confirm from Customer card if another core card is possible while holding tiger card as well.
If they say no, then will close tiger.

I don't find any of the Indusind cards as much rewarding. I think LEGEND + features of SELECT account are more beneficial than just having a tiger card.
Thanks for the help.

In how many days you've got the approved message? Can you please share the timeline after the online applying process( as in any call or physcial verification).
I applied the tiger card on friday and as of now didn't recieve any call or mail.
Thanks.

So they were providing upgrade or new card?
Limit was merged or separate.
Did they asked for to fill new application or just can be applied on call?

I will ask these questions. Thanks.
I haven't applied yet. When she told me that I am eligible for Legend, I told her to call me next week. Will see next week.

For me, It didn't take more than 10-15 days max.
There was an issue with submitting the vKYC.
I did the KYC 2 times and yet it kept showing me that I have KYC Pending.
Someone from IndusInd called and said, the agent is not submitting the KYC because of some information mismatch, and they sent a vKYC link to email.

I waited for 2 days, re-thinking whether I should go for it or not. At last, I went for it, just thinking it would get rejected since almost 8 inquiries were there and since a hard inquiry had already been done by IndusInd.
This time it got submitted successfully.
After that no communication from them.

After 6 days, I suddenly get an SMS to activate the card and an email to set the PIN.
There was no confirmation of application approval from their side, just a card-activation SMS.
The next day card was delivered.

Yeah indusind is very unpredictable.
In my case there's no option to do vkyc as i hold the indusind delite savings account.
I also have like 6-7 enquiries in past 3 months. Let's see what happens.
And how much limit you got ? Is it the same that you saw while applying?

They are quite deceptive on the limit.
Since I abandoned the application mid-way, I received an email stating I am eligible for a limit of 4L without any mention of t&c, conditional, etc. While They only gave upto 1L.
I have asked them to increase it to the mentioned limit.

Tiger is a good card if

1. You require widespread domestic lounge access.
2. Cash credit. Gives 40ps. Rest all are 25ps or less in this category.
3. Can spend 6l or more annually
4. Forex charge becomes positive post 6L

Tiger is not good for Airmiles, bank offers or zero mab account.

I've also seen such cases on this community where they didn't get the promised limit that was initially shown.
And one more thing..does indusind decline tiger applications for self employeds?

Yeah...i was planning to apply for the legend (for the select account to be zero mab) or tiger but on the card choosing page they offered only tiger..so i applied for the same.

Yes, I got it for the lounge ( since there are no spend criteria for the lounge for now ), low forex, and in addition, one movie ticket. Seems fair for an LTF card.
Reward wise I don't think I will touch this card.
Later I found out about Legend and 0 MAB and regretted getting this. Now only hoping to later switch to Legend. IndusInd cards are not good anyway but just good for collection.
