Infinia Infinia SmartBuy Hotel booking accelerated RP

I am trying to understand the math with which the Infinia Smartbuy portal shows 17010 RP on spending 60349 for a hotel booking.
My calculation is
1) 60349/150 = 402
2) 402*5 = 2010
3) 2010 * 10 = 20100

As there is a daily and monthly cap of 15000 Accelerated RP. I will get 15000 for this transaction + will get regular RP of 2010. Is that how it works ?

Does hotel create problem with such bookings? Like you need to check out one room and check in another?
 
I recently booked one. And price was same as cleartrip and hotel website. Smartbuy was booking via cleartrip. It was less than MMT and Yatra. Smartbuy was not showing same hotel from MMT.
 
Any other good strategy when you are booking holidays for say 1.5 to 2L (about 60 - 80K in flight and 1 to 1.5L for hotels)?

Booking flight in one month and hotel in another.

Also, I expect my monthly usage of accelerated rewards to be around 6-7K ( 30k amazon, swiggy, bb vouchers + 3k pharmacy + 2k Myntra). So, that leaves very less space for rewards from travel. Time to get another card? 🙂

No markup whatsoever. Most of the time, the same hotel is a little cheaper on Smartbuy. In any case, they show prices from MMT, Cleartrip and sometimes Yatra as well. The price shown is a little lower than what is shown on those sites.

No. I have done it several times but for different reasons like wanting to stay another day and adding it later. I always inform the reception that I have 2 bookings from X date to Y and they allot me the same room. Even if they make you check out, it's easy as it's in the same place but it has never happened to me anywhere in India or abroad.

Even I have had similar experience always. They just allow to continue in the same room.

30k amazon- how? Using add on cards?

Trying to understand - So all that it means smartbuy prices will be inflated than booking outside through MMT or some other sites?

Is it the same for flights as well?

If things are priced higher in smartbuy, what exactly is the benefit? Multiplier reward points? Is it like - even after paying higher, the reward points earned will be better than the higher price paid?

lol they wont do it if its the same variant xD bcuz else they need to clean room etc change everything 😛 so its a prob for them only 🤣 i guess

like yes if it deluxe and then super deluxe etc some room variant difference is there then issue is there xD

Hotel will not create problem. But there is a gap between checkin and checkout time for eg. 3pm checkin and 12pm checkout.
Keep that in mind.

I have very rarely seen higher prices on Smartbuy. For flights, I have never seen it. In fact, I have seen lower prices than other platforms.

For hotels, at max I have seen a difference of 400-500 Rs (not per night, but as a whole) on Smartbuy.
