I happen to found a Food Bill we ate at a Dabha 7 years back, in that bill 2 items prices didn’t changed 1 litre water bottle & 2.25L Thumps Up, in fact price reduced to ₹100 from ₹120(7 years back price). These days you can fetch same bottle for ₹60-80 from different vendors with offers. Rest of the Food prices increased drastically, like butter naan cost from ₹30 to ₹80- ₹100, Rambo Biryani from ₹240 to ₹380-₹500. Etc etc.

I think it feels like Coca Cola, PepsiCo makes these drinks for almost nothing. The price is not based on making charges,
but customer’s Mood. What price will be perfect for customer to buy our sugar syrups!, based on that these people label MRP.

Post COVID the restaurants have been lurring with high cost. People have been habituated

The manufacturing cost for cold drinks is approx 2rs/ liter. Sugar is the most expensive ingredient, but now with artificial sweeteners, that also is reduced!!

There are lot of costs included like labor, infra, rent, transport, preservatives, raw material, storage, packaging, labeling etc...

I wouldn't say it's Rs2 , but I would say whatever is the the MRP , 20-30% will be there expenses in general.

Now a days outside food has become really expensive, by seeing these people even juice shops, coconut, sugarcane vendors also have increased prices

While what you say about the investment is true and is a one time set up cost. Also since it's being produced in bulk, the cost drastically comes down.

A quick Google searche will tell you on the cost/profitable business in cold drinks.

₹2 is very less price, the spice oils they use are very very expensive. So ₹2 per liter isn’t the case. Sugar will be the cheapest ingredient out of all the ingredients they use. 5ml of food grade essential oils they use costs in around $500- $700. They use 6-7 essential oils, alcohol, food colors & industry standard Carbon Dioxide isn’t cheap too.
Now with lab made synthetic/ artificial sugars they’re eliminating the sugar costs also. Here in India Coca cola & others use mix of cane sugar & natural sweetener like stevia & some lab made sweeteners, whereas in Us they Use corn syrup & other artificial sweeteners. So definitely not ₹2 per liter. Coz apart from ingredients costs they need to consider electricity, transport, salaries, maintenance, plastic etc etc
