Millennia Is foreclosed EMI considered in total spending for an annual fee waiver?

Hi,

I have a Millenia and a Swiggy HDFC card. I want to buy something from Flipkart in EMI. Suppose I foreclose the EMI from mycards.hdfcbank.com and pay the full amount on the next day. Will the purchase amount be considered in the total spend for the annual fee waiver for these two cards?

I called HDFC customer care today. They said it would only be considered for an annual fee waiver if I pay the amount in EMI, but if I foreclose it, the amount will not be considered. The representative gave this reply after keeping me on a long hold. Also, it sounded like he was not confident.

Has anyone tried this or know any details on this?

Almost all banks now don't include EMI spends for milestone/waiver benefit. However, you can call them or drop an email for more clarification.
