Axis Atlas Is it worth paying Rs.1 for 1 Edge Mile?

Hello,

Last year I've closed my Axis Atlas Card when my Edge Miles balance was is -14000 (Negative). Since then I'm escalating to bring down the balance to Zero since it's mentioned in T&C that Negative balance will be eliminated by Statement debit on card closure.

Now Axis agreed to eliminate the negative balance if I'm ready to pay Rs.14000 (Rs.1 per EM). As I've previously converted those 14000EMs to 28000 Accor Points, I won't be at loss, i believe?

As I'm interested in getting Axis Atlas Card again, is it advisable to pay Rs.14000 and eliminate Negative Miles or abandon this idea of getting Axis Atlas again?

Personally, Yes.

But this question is highly subjective and dependent on the value you can extract from the points. In your case, you have redeemed for Accor which provides the best value which further leads me to believe you will be able to get at least 1INR value from those points. But, only pay the balance if you trust Axis enough to believe that the Atlas won't be further devalued. As of right now, you received those 28000 Accor points for free and if you were to pay for them and reopen the card you would technically be paying for them, and be putting your complete trust in Axis not devaluing the card in the upcoming year or two, because otherwise you made the wrong decision in paying for the miles.
