Network congestion also affects the speed/quality of service.
The busier the area, the less speed.
Jiofi does not support 4g+ (carrier aggregation) so indoor speeds are expected to be low, particularly in congested areas. I normally get around 40-50 mbps at my home on MR600 (40+40) and same location jiofi gives 12-15.Jio hotspot JioFi

JioFi is your portable & pocket size Wi-Fi router for high-speed internet on the go. Stay connected with our 4G hotspot routers & mobile hotspot devices.www.jio.com
Ohh. That also depends on the Device. I guess it's a bottleneck for your speed issue.Agree. But others were getting 100Mbps when I was getting onLy 12. 🙁
, I get only 12 to 14 Mbps despite being 5G city.
I am using Lava Blaze 5G for ethernet tethering. Battery goes from 100% to 10% in about 5-6 hrs.Or better buy a cheap 5G phone and use it for tethering only. (Use jio sim in this phone and do a 5G plan recharge)
Not sustainable. Phone charge will drain fast. Cheap phone = battery bulge within a year etc.
Is this on JioFi? If yes, this is normal. Aforementioned JioFi supports 4G only.
If you want better speeds, go for a 5g based router or an external 4g router such as Mikrotik SXT LTE6 that supports CA as well. Please know that currently 5g routers are being excluded from unlimited 5g by Jio and Airtel. No such restrictions on 4g routers.

If you are looking for a fixed place or very limited mobility with availability of power, you can go for desktop router TPLink MR600. It directly runs on mains power and can work 24x7.I am looking for a 4G device with better battery which can last me for 8hours. Looks like it doesn't exist.
But JIo was supposed to launch a 5G hotspot device. Looks like they realized it will eat into their AIR FIBER sales. 🙁
Take a look at this itel Magic X Pro 4G| 2500mAh Big Battery| Expandable Storage upto 64GB on Flipkart
I use this feature 4g phone as 4g hotspot using jio postpaid 649 ul pack.... Pretty good if u are using in same room as the device.... Use my smart tv as well on it...
Have attached speedtest for reference
I have this (or possibly the earlier version) for more than 2 years now. Have used as a hotspot while traveling. It does not support CA so speeds are similar to joifi. Also battery backup is around 3-4 hrs but can be connected to powerbank. Good to use as a back up phone and as a hotspot while traveling, particularly if using a wifi only tablet/ipad or laptop. Dual SIM and supports 4G on both. So useful particularly in remote locations where network is doubtful.Take a look at this itel Magic X Pro 4G| 2500mAh Big Battery| Expandable Storage upto 64GB on Flipkart

If you need it for on the move, Magic X Pro 4G posted above is good. Its unlocked and works with any SIM. You can even put 2 SIMs if you want. But only works in hotspot mode. If you specifically need usb based dongle, there are very few choices available and mostly unknown brands or amz basic rebranded.Do you guys know of any dongles for VI or Airtel networks that are good.
There are a few on Amazon, but some reviews don't look genuine.
I was using the JioM2 for almost 6 years before it finally gave way. Bought the Jio M2S, but M2S is a downgrade version of M2.
Recently, the jio network in my area is just horrible. I think a tower has been removed and it barely works on phones, forget laptops and other devices. Have raised complain with jio, but they keep closing the complaint saying their Network is at optimal speed. Now I think this time to switch, so looking for another device that supports VI or Airtel.
I have used with 4. They claim to support upto 10I need in hotspot mode so USB connection is not needed. How many devices can connect to the Magic x pro 4g? I have atleast 4-5 devices connected at any point in time.
