Hi, I have been following this group since 2021 but never felt the need to open an account to make a post. But, now I think is the time to do so. My credit card journey started in 2019 with the Amazon Pay ICICI credit card. Later in October 2020, I was issued an HDFC Moneyback credit card LTF with a humble limit of Rs 75,000. I didn't spend much on this card; it was just kept for offer purposes. In mid-2021, the limit was enhanced to Rs 90,000. Also, by the end of the year, I was getting options to update my card to Moneyback+ as FYF which didn't seem to be a lucrative idea and I simply ignored it. Then I received another limit enhancement to Rs 1,17,000 in mid-2022. By the end of 2022, I got a bank offer for paid Neu Cards however my application for Tata Neu Plus was declined.
I have relied heavily on Tata Neu for grocery, medicine, and lifestyle shopping since 2021. In March 2023, I got an offer from Tata Neu for an HDFC Neu Plus Rupay card as LTF and an HDFC Neu Infinity card as FYF. Considering my spending pattern, which would have never reached Rs 2 lac on the Tata Neu platform, I opted for the former, and the same got approved. My limit of Rs 1,17,000 was being jointly shared between HDFC Moneyback and HDFC Neu Plus card. Around June 2023, I started getting the option to upgrade my HDFC Moneyback to HDFC Millennia as FYF. I tried contacting customer care over email asking for an LTF upgrade in goodwill but my request was outright humiliated 🙂p). I even asked for a spend-based LTF offer but had no success with it either. I further demanded a limit enhancement citing an average CL of Rs 2,50,000 over other cards with a maximum CL of Rs 5,75,000 but my request was again turned down with a suggestion to use the card as much as possible.
I finally decided to make daily merchant QR transactions using my HDFC Neu Plus Rupay card (it's easy to guess, how). Finally, I took the FYF HDFC Millennia upgrade in January 2024 and also received a limit enhancement offer of Rs 1,83,000 in mid-2024. So, it took almost 2 years to get the next limit enhancement offer as I share no further relationship with HDFC bank. All this while, I have been closely reviewing posts on TF and Reddit to be able to get some insights about the hidden HDFC policies related to upgrades and pricing policies of the HDFC cards division. I cannot pinpoint exactly, but I read somewhere that for HDFC Neu Plus to HDFC Neu Infinity upgrade, a limit of Rs 1,50,000 is needed.
So, I tried my luck again this time in November 2024 citing upcoming spending jewelry on Tanishq. Within 1 day (11th November 2024), I received a consensus e-mail asking to confirm pricing details as LTF. I was also informed that when the HDFC Neu Card is upgraded (which includes Infinity variant to Plus variant or vice versa, and/or RuPay to VISA franchise conversion or vice versa), then accelerated NeuCoins on the unbilled transactions on the previous card account will not be posted. Upon agreeing to the t&c over email, I got a call on 16th November 2024 confirming my lifetime free upgrade. The mail, however, did not mention the LTF. Adhering to several suggestions in the group to always get things over email, I mailed them back to confirm the LTF status and received a reply on 18th November 2024, confirming the same. Also, I got my card delivered today (19th November) as well.
After so many rejections by the HDFC bank email support team over 1.5 years and reading similar experiences of fellow users regarding LTF upgrades with HDFC, this LTF upgrade from HDFC Neu Plus Rupay to HDFC Neu Infinity Rupay seems like a victory worth celebrating 🙂.
Relevant snapshots are attached.
