Roadmap to HDFC CC Pre Approved Offers New

With advice from @SSV & @Anupama_Jha, I reopened my HDFC journey after closing my Tata Neu Plus CC (74K limit) since they refused to upgrade it to Infinity or a core card. Got the 2nd-year fee waived with 87K spends but finally closed it in Jan 2025.

Opened a Max Savings Account on 24th March 2025, received all details the next morning, and the welcome kit was dispatched on 28/03/2025 - Delivered by 30/03/2025.

Welcome Kit Includes:

HDFC New Platinum DC
✅ Passbook
✅ 5 Leaves Cheque Book

However, they sent the New Platinum DC by default, which is pretty useless!
Now, I need to request the Millennia DC, but the upgrade section still shows Platinum DC along with Millennia & Business DC.

Is the Millennia DC free with the Max Savings account?
I plan to use this as a semi-primary account after IDFC.
Any suggestions on how to speed up the pre-approved offer?
My main goal is to secure an HDFC core card (Regalia Gold or above) as LTF with a good limit.
Millennia will not be useful for me as I hold SBI CB, ICICI Apay, and FK Axis.

Update(31-03-2025): Applied the Millennia DC Timeline

📅 31st March – Applied
📦 2nd April– Dispatched
📬 3rd April – Delivered

I currently have three HDFC credit cards (LTF now).

1. Moneyback plus rupay
2. Swiggy MC
3. Tata neu Plus Rupay

My first credit card was a pre-approved offer from HDFC due to my salary account, despite having no CIBIL history. It was a MoneyBack Plus paid Mastercard with a ₹63,000 limit.

The limit was later increased to ₹71,000 after I purchased an AC worth ₹40,000 from Amazon.

Subsequently, I requested a lifetime free (LTF) conversion. After some back and forth, including a closure request email, I successfully got it converted to LTF. Later, I changed the Mastercard variant to RuPay.

At one point, I applied for the Tata Neu Plus card (First Year Free - FYF). I requested an LTF conversion, but it was rejected, so I chose to close the card.

Later, I applied for the Swiggy card (FYF) and eventually converted it to LTF.

After submitting my ITR, I requested a limit enhancement (LE), which increased my limit to ₹1.41 lakh. Following this, I applied for the Tata Neu Infinity FYF, but instead, I received the Neu Plus as a paid variant. Initially, they issued a paid version instead of FYF, and after a lot of back and forth, I managed to get it converted to LTF.

To be honest, I haven't used the Neu Plus card much—my total transactions on it are barely around ₹2,000. I primarily use my HDFC Swiggy and MoneyBack Plus cards during offers and occasionally for fuel payments.

I also had an HDFC RuPay UPI credit card (LTF), but I have since closed it as well.

Cibil is 1 year and 10 months old. Currently hold around 12 active CCs with cibil in between 782 and 792.

My Journey with HDFC so far:

September 2023: Received the HDFC IRCTC credit card (limit: just Rs. 37K).

January 2024: Opened SavingsMax account. MAB/MQB till January 2025: 40K-2L (mostly on the higher side), used Plat DC for 40K-75K each month for CC payments only (always felt it would be suboptimal to use DC for other things when better CCs are available). Was using the account as a primary account (NB, UPI transactions).

June 2024: Closed the IRCTC HDFC card due to low limit, no LEs despite high usage, and the core/co-branded policy of HDFC.

June 2024: Account enrolled into Classic banking.

End of January 2025: No pre-approved offers yet. Had very poor customer service experience with HDFC over the year. Decided it's not worth holding the account.

Start of February 2025: Transferred the balance to another account, stopped using the account completely (Balance in the account since then: ~Rs. 500). Approached the nearest branch for account closure but was asked to visit the home branch, which is in my hometown. Called RM, he too said I will have to visit the branch.

19th March: For the first time, received a pre-approved CC offer: DCP LTF with upto 1.8L limit (They have really given 1.8L limit). Took it considering all I want is just any core HDFC card. With SBI CB, ICICI Amazon and Axis FK cards, Millennia doesn't add much value for me.

Last week: Managed to visit the home branch in my howetown and closed the account.

It's Not easy with HDFC. Here's My Journey
  • Opened Account in Sept 2024 with 5L cheque (Not Salary acc)
  • Maintained on average of 4L to 5L monthly balance
  • Spent over 6L with debit card since account opening. mostly CC bills
  • Net banking transactions even higher. Paying Education, Paying Amex Bills and transferring money to friends / family
  • Have not seen a Pre-Approved offer in net banking portal till date. (But will get SPAM daily like this: We are pleased to inform you of your eligibility for our LIFETIME FREE HDFC Bank Credit Card + Rs.1500 Amazon Voucher, with zero paperwork.)
  • But on expressway I got Privilege card (Paid) till last month. Now it's refreshed to Marriot Bonvoy (Paid). The tag says Pre Approved but no limit shown till now. Anyway I was not interested in either of the cards
  • RM/BM/ Some rando employees calls me everyday to Buy insurance , "Sir Please make FD only one minute process"
  • They even pitched in "Insurance + Investment" product and claimed that;s not ULIP. When I elaborated the definition of ULIP they went silent

Slowly invested the entire amount in equity over the last few months as Lumpsums and only have 1L now in account. and 5k FD (was testing the sweep in facility). I have no interest in maintaining emergency fund as FD. I have it invested in equal parts of debt and liquid

Xpressway is also showing me privilege paid too. But hdfc randomly sends mails and mobile notifications mentioning ltf privilege and those links redirect to unconditional ltf page.
I think you can check limit on the offers page in netbanking.

Correct same links redirect to unconditional ltf page.

I have attached the same SS below. Will this result in CIBIL hit?

This is awesome, congrats! I'm actually in a similar situation and I'll share my experience so far. I'm also aiming for RG LTF or higher.
Here's a rough timeline of my journey with HDFC:
  • April 2023: Applied and got Tata Neu Plus FYF (Limit 86k)
  • July 2023: Closed Neu Plus permanently (Because I wanted Infinity)
  • November 2023: Applied and got Swiggy (Paid 500 JF + 500 AF, Limit: 1.25L)
  • September 2024: Credit limit of Swiggy card increased to 1.52L
  • October 2024: Applied and got Neu Infinity. (FYF, same limit, 1.52L)
  • November 2024: Got both Neu and Swiggy converted to LTF
  • December 2024: Opened HDFC salary account (Preferred variant)
  • January 2025 onwards: Salary started crediting in HDFC account.
  • March 2025: Limits of Neu Infinity and Swiggy enhanced to 7.53L (used these cards extensively in the last 2 months)
  • As of today: March 31, 2025: Have the salary account and two cards.
As of what I think, HDFC issues cards under three heads:
  • Core
  • Floater
  • Co-branded
They issue one core card as Core, and (maybe) one more (core card) as floater (based on eligibility), and then the co-branded cards.
(I have seen people here in TF with Infinia as Core and Biz Black as Floater). Pixel is out of this equation.

I am waiting, fingers crossed. So far I have not made any requests from my side. Will talk to RM after one month.
I am also waiting to see if they upgrade my Preferred to Imperia. But RM is saying it needs net salary of 3L+.
As the account gets older and with time, they may relax some requirements (I think).
Wow how you did you get huge LE? Pre approved or you applied for LE manually?

I am sharing here the three different Journeys - three different possibilities

1. My Mother’s Credit Card Journey

  • Started with HDFC Classic Banking (Primary Acc Holder in the Group) in 2021 with a ₹5L FD.
  • Within a month, she received a Biz MB CC with a ₹50K limit.
  • Used the card occasionally and received frequent LEs
  • After a year (2023), she received an offer for a FYF Business Regalia(3L). Though not the best option, she took it.
  • Used the Biz Regalia rarely and later requested an LTF conversion through the RM and customer care both refused.
  • Decided to downgrade the Biz Regalia to Millennia FYF via email. After spending ₹1L, she requested an LTF conversion, which was approved.
  • In 2024, she received a ₹5L LE and an upgrade offer to Regalia Gold (RG) FYF. Waited for a month, and the offer refreshed to Regalia Gold LTF, which she availed.
  • She didn't spend much on any card and did not reach the fee waiver condition
  • Final Journey: Biz Moneyback → Biz Regalia → Millennia → Regalia Gold LTF

2. My Credit Card Journey

  • Started with HDFC Preferred Banking (No FD) in 2023. (Joined as member in Group)
  • Received a pre-approved MB+ FYF with a ₹75K limit.
  • Later applied for Swiggy FYF and maintained a decent balance but without an FD.
  • Sent multiple emails for LTF conversion, but no luck. No LEs either.
  • Closed both cards and waited a few months.
  • In 2024, applied for TNI FYF and got a ₹1.8L limit.
  • Spent around ₹3L and requested an LTF conversion, but it was denied.
  • Every time I reached the fee waiver condition
  • 3-4 months later, upgraded TNI to Millennia FYF and currently using it.

3. My Cousin’s Credit Card Journey

  • Started with HDFC Preferred Banking in 2024 with a ₹10L FD.(Not a primary acc holder)
  • Maintained only ₹10K in the savings account, didn’t use the debit card, and had no significant transactions.
  • Exactly 3 months after the account opening, he received a pre-approved Swiggy LTF with a ₹3L limit.

My Advice

  1. Don't apply for any basic cards until you get the one you truly want. It may take some time.
  2. Start with Millennia/DCP FYF/LTF, ensuring a minimum limit of ₹1.5L.
  3. Make it your primary card and use it as much as possible.
  4. Wait with patience; they will offer some useless cards or LEs like I mentioned in my experience , Don't avail any such offers
  5. SavingsMax may not be helpful; upgrade to Classic if you can.
  6. if you're the primary account holder in ur family group chances of getting premium cards as LTF is very high.

Does pre approved limit depends on account variant or just mab?

Very nicely explained, a ready reference ☝️ ✔️.

There will be no cibil hit till the offer page which displays the cards.
You're right!! thanks

This what I see Marriott is the only paid card.

I don't see limit anywhere! but think they are Pre approved. I might Get limit upto 2L

Guys, What should I do? wait for offers to refresh? and get regalia gold FYF or LTF or take the Privilege card and climb the ladder

End goal Is either DCB or Infinia and I don't mind paying the fee for them

any suggestions are helpful
