Kotak customers data might be leaked

Hi,

Recently, someone attempted to use my Kotak debit card for an unauthorized transaction. Thankfully, international transactions were disabled. I hardly used this card or shared its details with anyone. I immediately called customer care, reported the incident, and blocked the card. They issued a new one.

If you see any unauthorized activity, block your card immediately and take action.

Today, I received a call from someone claiming to ask about my satisfaction with Kotak Bank’s services. The caller knew my name, I rarely use this account, and it’s only been a year since I opened it.

The call got suspicious when they asked me to do KYC. They even told me to download an app. This was an obvious scam attempt, so I hung up immediately.

Takeaways:

1. Always disable international transactions unless needed.

2. Block your card if you notice any unauthorized usage.

3. Never download apps or click links shared by unknown callers.

4. Banks don’t ask for KYC over random calls or WhatsApp.

5. Stay cautious and share this with others to spread awareness. Fraud attempts are increasing, and even if you don’t use an account often, it’s better to stay alert.
