Hello,

If one is spending more than 1Cr on credit card spends in a year, what is the best possible way to accumulate reward points to guarantee 5 tickets for international travel.

I will try and take this conversation forward, few basics that are each one needs to understand to improve their ROE (Return on Expenditure), while I have tried to put them in some order but please don't assume that these are intended to be in any particular order of priority:
  • First and foremost is whether you have the patience to understand and implement
  • Do you have clarity about objectives to improve ROE - You want cash back, get travel benefits, shopping benefits
  • Do you have an understanding of the cards are you eligible for
  • Do you have an understanding of the limits are you eligible for
  • Is your wife/better half/parents etc eligible for some cards and her limits
  • What are your monthly spends and card spending in particular
  • Can some UPI/Bank transfer spending be moved to credit card
  • Do you have alternative spending opportunities eg business spending or for friends
  • Do you have an understanding of the various types of spending you have i.e. Travel, Hotel, Grocery, Education etc..
Some of the above questions will help you in your first step to plan and increase your ROE.....

Bro what do you do?

Le visa, Thankyou my friend: 2.5% of 1cr = 2.5lac.
Le Merchant: Payment Processor ko de, Gst de, Sales tax de, income tax de, yaha tak ki swach Bharat tax bhi de, aur Budget me koi rebate nahi.

Middle Class: Hamra suno to, tumahar g**d ki phat jayi. Hum to jaise exist hi nahi karte Budget me.

So, thanks for getting in touch with this.
  1. patience and understanding is there. im not in a hurry with these things.
  2. I am very clear that I want international tickets/hotel stays etc from the CC points
  3. eligibility with any card is not an issue.
  4. limits are good
  5. spouse is more likely an add-on card on my cards, spends are not so much
  6. monthly spends are mostly hotels, restaurants, utilities (business expenses)
  7. I focus all my spending on CC and not google pay etc
  8. heavy business spends are put on card when possible
  9. i am not extremely well versed with all the categories, but i have a fair understanding of these
I tend to put as much expenses as i can on the card. What i wanted to calculate using an excel sheet was the ROE part. If i spend hypothetically 1Cr annually, how should i bifurcate these expenses based on categories and also maximize reward points while doing these expenses?

@phheeewww I too have spends of more than 1cr in a year. categories - Hotel, Grocery, utility, fuel, education, rent, insurances etc. i do travel international trips with family mostly covered by miles and points. tag me too if you find a best way.

Will be great to know if you would like to share.
Not an expert in miles game. fly few times a year only for family vacation. Best value i got last year was 80rs/mile in intermiles redemption for banglore - abudhabi - male - abudhabi - banglore route in Etihad Economy with free transit hotel for 1 day and free transit visa in abudhabi for 6 persons. Redeemed 1.2L miles for return 8 day trip for my family. Each one way ticket was showing 8L rs i. sky scanner and other portal that time. Also during expo hotels price were very high, so i redeemed 55k miles for 5 days in novotel worth 75k. But Intermiles become useless now. Now vistara and United seems good for me.
