List of hotels / airlines transfer partners that can be used for making bookings for friends and family

Hi, can any good soul compile a list of airlines/hotel transfer partners that can be used for making bookings for friends and family; and the possible terms and conditions that one should be aware of.

Also, does anyone have personally tried making miles transfer directly into the account of someone else? Does it work?
For HDFC, I used to transfer miles from my father's Clubmiles (HDFC Diners) card to my Vistara account, and it always worked smoothly.
