Recently with the LTF offer for alumni for certain colleges, I applied for ICICI Sapphiro on their alumni page.
A couple of days later, I received a call from the bank and the representative processed my application for Sapphiro.
I received the card, and a couple of days later, BOOM, an annual fee of around ₹7000 was charged. I called the representative and wrote multiple emails, however, there was no closure. They said the representative had communicated the annual fees to me.
After I dropped an email to the Nodal Officer, I received a call from the nodal bank officer.
Turned out, what I wasn't aware of was that this was a marketing call unrelated to my alumni application. The representative sent me the card details including an Annual Fee of ₹7000 on WhatsApp which I hadn't noticed.
I told the nodal officer that I wasn't aware of this, and if it is so, then please cancel the card and give me a one-time waiver. I haven't used it as such.
The nodal officer was kind enough, he asked me to make the payment, and raise a refund request. Subsequently, he also mentioned that he'll process a LTF Sapphiro for me with his credentials.
My Blunder but I will give ICICI 10/10 here for customer service and satisfaction. Compared to Axis where there is absolutely no clarity and response on what bomb they will drop next.
