More folks are aware of benefits of farming points and using them to buy tickets for international flights. People with time at hand (like me) will research more and use it more for sweet spots thus making it expensive for axis those specific associations - like accor etc.
Devaluation - either in miles transfer or in awarding bonus edge points the only logical course of action .
