Experts general query for you @TechnoFino @Subhankar

Can we just enroll as a normal user in Marriot Bonvoy and other airmile account partners? or we need to have certain Gold/Elite status in it

My next question is also on the super premium cards which gives this status. Suppose say I get the 70K Uber Amex card or 60k Axis Reserve and obtain these membership, what happens to my membership after 1year, if I cancel my AMEX card(as they don't have a good renewal points).

Will the membership be still intact?(let's say I migrated few points in Marriot Bonvoy for example) - Thanks

  1. You can be normal user in Marriott (or any other hotel loyalty programs) and the same goes to FFP also. You get the status by either card (as you mentioned for Amex and Axis) or by fulfilling criteria for that level.
  2. Loyalty status
    1. If a particular status is given by card - You will be on that level (that's default) or higher (if you have fulfilled the criteria of that level) as long as the card is active. Every year along with the anniversary year, your membership with loyalty programs also get renewed. When the card gets deactivated, on the next review date, you will be treated as per the normal user and criteria will be checked on review date.
    2. else - Every loyalty program has some review date, based on the rules of that program, your status will be decided and maintained accordingly.
Every loyalty program has different terms and conditions so you have to go through them to understand specific details.
