Infinia Maximizing Travel Perks: How to Squeeze the Most Out of My Cards? (Infinia and BizBlack)

TF Premier
Hey everyone,

My team and I have a bunch of upcoming trips—around 20 flights and 10 hotel nights. I want to optimize these bookings to maximize benefits.

I have an Infinia card, an add-on Infinia card, and a Biz Black card, but I’m concerned about hitting the upper limits. Most of these bookings need to be made in the first week of March.

What’s the best strategy to get the most rewards, points, and benefits while managing limits? Looking forward to your insights!

Add-On cards wont help as the restriction of accelarated points is as primary card level and add-ons also post the transaction to primary card.
So, use these cards first for hotels (10X rewards) and if points permit, then flight.

If you cant accomodate everything and such expences would be in future as well, you may consider checking other cards as well like Axis Atlas.

check if you can book in 2 parts i.e. 2/3 days before your stmt generation and then 1 day after the stmt generation, this way you can at least max out twice on both cards.

Split your bookings over billing cycles (I guess at most two may be possible in this scenario, depending on your billing dates). This lets you take full advantage of each cycle’s available reward caps.

Note that your add-on card shares monthly SmartBuy caps with your primary account.

Make some bookings in one billing cycle, use RPs from that (at 70%) for next tranche of bookings (if RPs credited by then, with Infinia its next month, and with BizBlack it takes two months).

You should try to include other cards if available (as suggested Axis Atlas would have been a good option).

I do not want to use RPs for further bookings as these will be re-imbursed by the client.
Another thing, I am confused as to whether Infinia follows billing cycle or calendar monthly cycle ?

SmartBuy follows calendar month cycle
Now what is RML ?🙁
Its a group in Technofino itself, which could be joined by making payment. There you can buy/sell airlines/hotels points/vouchers. But I guess since you will be claiming reimbursement, so might not be of use for you (at least for said bookings).

This is my understanding, please correct me if I am wrong:

HDFC Infinia (including add-on card).
Can max spend INR 90,000 for flights or INR 45,000 for hotel booking. This will give me bonus RP of 15,000, which is the calendar monthly limit.

HDFC Biz Black
Can max spend INR 60,000 for flights OR INR 30,000 for hotel booking. This will give me bonus RP of 10,000 which is the calendar monthly limit.

In general the calculation is right, to be specific, in 5X and 10X rewards, 1X is base so only 9X and 4X is counted as accelarated rewards and is limited to 15k points for example in Infinia. So actual spends would be slightly more than what you have calculated.
Calender month is also right but it is for settlement date which could be 2-3 days after the transaction date so if you do transaction towards the end of the month, there is a slight risk as to in which month the transaction would be settled.

Thanks, few points here and there is fine.

I guess MMT is 5X partner for gold charge so 10% marriot points whose value depend on property and timing. Platinum travel will consider this in milestone and may give some multiplier reward as well (not sure).

I guess EMIs are not considered in rewards.
saw this thread so assumed- need to check more in details unless someone who has experience with it can answer

  • Offer also applicable on Credit Card Easy EMI Transactions (on Flights / Hotels / Bus / Instant Vouchers & Apple Imagine Tresor). Bonus RP on Infinia, Diners Black, Regalia & Diners Privilege Credit card and Cashback on other credit cards would be posted every month on the EMI amount levied on that given month

Probably only available for couple of days max based on below
