Maximum Amex Cards + Supplementary cards?

I understand the limit is 2 credit cards and 1 charge card. Can you get additional cards as someone else's supplementary card? Say you already have platinum charge, can you get gold charge as a family members supplementary card?

Yes you can. I know someone who has a gold charge card + has a supplementary platinum charge card

I had 2 charge cards and 2 CC for quite some time. Plat & Gold Charge, MRCC & Plat Reserve.

They only cancelled one Gold Charge when I called and told them, I already have Platinum charge and don't require Gold, till then I was getting the bonus for 6 transactions of 1,000 each on Gold
