Meet and Greet Service now on Amex Platinum Charge Card!

Amex has finally announced Meet and Greet services on the Platinum Charge card.



I and some members noticed this previously in a thread where this was added to the benefits but was taken a back few days later.

We thought it was added by mistake but it's now back and officially announced!

Do you think this makes the Charge card worth the price now?
Will you renew or get the card for this benefit?

This is applicable only when you book via their Amex Travel service (no accelerated RPs there) for at least 1 Lac on Premium Economy+ category. This is bonkers.

Yeah, read more about it and that does feel like a bummer.

They should open it to any bookings - just like Axis, how does it matter where I book it from. If someone had paid for the card, allow them to use it.

Is not revaluation at all... They want you to spend 1L in flight tickets booking amount on amex travel portal to get this service.

Yeah, the book tickets from us if you want to use this is slightly annoying.
How much value in terms of money do you put for a meet and greet service?

Basic Meet and Great service for an international departure at Mumbai Airport (BOM-DXB) costs around 6k per person.

They charge additional 1.8% on top of booking amount too, which makes the flight more expensive than MMT or cleartrip.

Overall if you consider this as service it's decent but the price markup with Amex travel portal is some concern.

Delhi T3, RGIA Hyderabad, Mumbai where you have to wait and walk a lot this helps.

Okay, so 4 people allowed that means 24K worth of benefits.

If I book a 1.5 lac ticket, they take 2% extra fees, that's 3K taxes charged for 24K worth of benefit.

The best case scenario would still be to allow M&G irrespective of where I booked it as from(as AmEx doesn't allow low-cost airlines).
But I would say a fair addition to the card, if they keep adding more such benefits without the unnecessary TnC, it might actually become worth it.

I too received email abt meet and greet services on plat chg Get 4 complimentary* Meet and Greet services per calendar year and today after 70 days got my 20k referral bonus points after I raised compliant.

it worth 6k per person though. I feel the level of service provided is hardly 500 rs per person - especially in off-peak hours. You would pretty much take the same amount of time +/- 5 mins with this service. Incase you are travelling with elderly - then consider booking wheelchair assistance as they will always come with buggy / wheelchair unlike M&G which does not always provide a transport and they end of as strangers that walk alongside you for 6K!

For everyone making fun of 1 lakh spends on Amex travel portal and stating 2% charge I am telling this from my personal experience that if you book a couple of tickets that sum up to 1 lakh you actually are getting airport meet n greet+ 15k Yatra voucher … now that’s dual benefit which no mmt booking can match . It’s nearly 15-20 percent discount !

Yes, it's totally worth it. I have used meet & greet twice last month. Additionally got 15k worth of vouchers for both the bookings, and on one instance got a free upgrade from Business to First class (Emirates). For frequent traveler's, plat charge is totally worth it, but people using plat charge for referral selling and gyftr won't understand.
