Sharing my latest phishing attack attempt resulting from a CC bill payment I made via Mobikwik. Yesterday, I made a CC bill payment via Mobikwik for my ICICI CC bill. When the transaction wasn't reflected even after 15+ hours, I raised a complaint on Twitter with Mobikwik handle. Within 10 minutes, I got a call from a private number 9038144960, who claimed to be a representative of Mobikwik. The guy asked me to check an SMS that was sent from the Mobikwik support team (Flag Alert: the SMS came from the same number mentioned above). SMS contains this link "Mobikwik support https://online.forms.app/mobikwiksupport1/untitled-form" and redirected to a form where the scammer asked me to enter the OTP which I had just received. I played with the scammer for next couple of minutes and finally hung the call.
But the thing that surprised me the most was:
1. Got this call immediately after I posted my complaint on twitter
2. My number on which the call was made is a relatively new number with no bank account linked/ any other app linked. Have used it only for Cheq and Mobikwik in recent 1 month, but not sure how the scammer got hold of my number. The only thing I shared on twitter was the transaction receipt of Mobikwik concerning my CC bill payment. No personal details are mentioned there
