Multiple Health insurances

Hello

I already have a health insurance. I am considering taking a 2nd health insurance.

Rationale :
- Higher cover
- Reduced risk if waiting period of 3 years in 2nd policy
- Diversification of risk

My queries
- Is it legal ?
- At time of claim, how should I optimize for value ?
- How can I make optimal use of the combo ?
- Downsides of this combo ?

Feel free to add suggestions as well as thoughts in case I should know something I might not.

i already handled such scenario with my parents 2 policies. National and Oriemtal.
Claimed cashless with higher amount policy and then submit discharge papers, another company claim papers, claim acceptance etc to 2nd insurance company as reimbursement.
it is lengthy process and 2nd company always ask for more papers and documents.

Better to go for single higher covered policy. You can increase the insurance amount every year during renewal
