Need advice please

I know this may not be the right section for this. But having bit trouble thinking straight at the moment.

I have booked a family trip to Thailand in 2 weeks on Go Air. Just saw the news that the Airlines have filed for bankruptcy.

Not sure what to do next. Have planned everything and paid for most.

Any suggestions from anyone on what to do next.

Just wait. Let the air get cleared. May be in 2-3 days.

Then you can see what is the best alternative flying arrangement unless you want to cancel the trip. Most hotels allow to cancel their reservation upto 24/48 hrs unless it is a non refundable booking.

Most often the company will honour the booking. It's only the future bookings will be affected.

if i were you, i would book alternate tickets on another flight and buy full insurance/flexi option on those tickets to get 100% refund if i cancel. i am assuming that funds are not an issue. this is playing safe as you dont want to let your family down during this holiday season.

go air will inform at least 48 hours before cancellation i am hoping. if they cancel, go by new booking and wait for full refund from go air which i think you will get it without any problem.

Yeah they have cancelled next 2 days flights and will refund the money. Most likely future flights will also be cancelled.

It is very very unlikely that G8 will be flying with any reliability after this. They have filed for bankruptcy which means that even getting a refund from them in the next several months will be near impossible for you.

Don't cancel your G8 tickets but see if you can book some other airlines with good cancellation policies. There are many variables for failure here including the fact that G8 flies you there but leaves you stranded. A good credit card and travel insurance is your friend here.

Start looking for options.

also, since you were flying international, you would have taken travel insurance. does that insurance cover cancellation of flights? just for my knowledge.

Thanks for all the advice above.

Tried booking another ticket. But guess everyone else is doing the same as the prices went up crazy in the last couple of hours. And lot of flights are no longer accepting cancellable tickets.

All part of the G8 effect I guess.

Things don't look too pretty at the moment. I hope that I atleast get the fare refunded 🙁

Nope. It covers mainly Medical insurance. Not much in terms of flight cancellation. Atleast that is the case for the one I got.
