Need clarity on use of a credit card outside India

I know there are some threads here and many articles on the internet talking about charges on using a CC for international transaction/abroad. But I am still confused due to different terminologies used by different people. Can someone please help me understand exactly what all charges do one needs to pay if he uses a CC outside India? Here are some more specific doubts.

1. Is there any difference, from the point of view of being charged, between (a) sitting in India and doing an international transaction online in foreign currency, (b) going abroad and swiping a credit card on a POS machine for a foreign currency transaction?

2. If we are talking about doing an international transaction through a CC in a foreign currency, are the following terms mean exactly the same thing? international transaction fee, foreign transaction fee/charge, forex markup fee/charge

3. I see some people mentioning about a 1% fee which is charged by the network (Visa/MC/RuPy). Is it included in the any term mentioned in the 2nd doubt above? Or, is it included in the forex markup fee or not?

4. I also read that we have to pay gst on the forex markup fee. Is it levied on the forex markup fee amount or on the transaction amount? If just on the forex markup fee amount, then does it mean that there will be no GST if a zero forex markup fee card like Scapia CC is used?

5. Sorry for asking this question again....what all charges will be levied if I use the Scapia CC for an international transaction in foreign currency?

6. Exactly what all charges will be levied if a Credit Card is used abroad for an international transaction but using local currency (INR)?

I am sorry if these questions are stupid. Thank you in advance!

No markup would be levied on both depending on which card you have used
Only difference possible in ecom transaction done is if you do in INR vs Local currency there is a difference in charge that might be levied.
DCC vs FX Markup
2. If we are talking about doing an international transaction through a CC in a foreign currency, are the following terms mean exactly the same thing? international transaction fee, foreign transaction fee/charge, forex markup fee/charge
refer to point 1
3. I see some people mentioning about a 1% fee which is charged by the network (Visa/MC/RuPy). Is it included in the any term mentioned in the 2nd doubt above? Or, is it included in the forex markup fee or not?
some cards have a forex markup
now based on the network the price you would pay be the rate at which the transaction gets settled and not when done
also the fee by network is added over and above the spot rate which is known as interbank rate
4. I also read that we have to pay gst on the forex markup fee. Is it levied on the forex markup fee amount or on the transaction amount? If just on the forex markup fee amount, then does it mean that there will be no GST if a zero forex markup fee card like Scapia CC is used?
Gst is levied on markup fee i guess
so scapia wouldnt attract gst charges

The above answers should answer these as well
I am sorry if these questions are stupid. Thank you in advance!
