Need guidance if its worth upgrading to Magnus Burgundy from regular Magnus

Hi all,

I have a Magnus credit card and a burgundy account as family add on.(Mother has the burgundy relationship). I made a lot of high value purchases recently, which took my Edge points to 10,00,000 or so. These transactions are fetching rewards and AEP and have hit fee waiver limit for another year at least.

Now I am expecting to get some lumpsum amount in a month or so. So I wanted to check if its worth upgrading to Magnus Burgundy by creating FDs to get the Burgundy status and then upgrading to Magnus Burgundy to get the higher transfer limits and 5:4 ratio? I don't travel a lot as I have a small kid, and lot of the transfer benefits which I could have used are in group A, so limited points. I used to transfer to Vistara previously, but after merger, same flight I used to frequent has moved to Air India Express which for some reason does not show up in Air India for points redemption.

With this in mind, is it worth paying the fee for the higher redemption limits, since Magus burgundy does not have a any other benefits over Magnus. I most likely could hit the fee waiver limit for 1 more year (unless Axis does devaluation again) .

Thanks.

Magnus burgundy >>>>>>> Regular magnus.

Though Benefits are same. Only diffrence is offer Annual fee , wavier criteria and rewards redemption over miles.

On Regular its 5:2
For burgundy is 5:4

On burgundy return rate is 4.8% while on Regular it's 2.4% only.

Currently magnus for burgundy is one of the best card in the market so go for it

And as it's upgrade offer provided by axis, the points automatically carried to upgraded card which you can redeem with 5:4 ratio

You can for m4b but i don't think they will convert/transfer your points to m4b of previously acquired points to 5:4 redemption reason being m4b has sperate slot for point display like miles selection . It will be at 5:2 for older acquired points. any fresh points got from m4b swipe only that can be used for 5:4

First get confirmation mail from axis in written that previously acquired points will it be moved to m4b for 5:4 redemption after i get the m4b card.

Also to note on capping in year redemption max points. Its best to check such capping than decide.
