Need guidance regarding Visa process

Hii guys, my son is planning to study in Germany. But the issue is no one ever from our family went to Europe. So requirements and stuff are still unclear. Procedures what additional stuff i can do to make sure he gets admission etc.
Once i asked someone they said me to go German embassy. But there are two types embassy and consulate i don't know which to go

Anyone knows best method or someone who can give real knowledge not the bluff that these counsellors and travel agents give.

I can't exactly tell about German student visa but I have applied for many country visas and usually the process is same.

Initially you will have to fill an application form You can find this link on German embassy site. I'd suggest to contact an agent as they would be able to help you on which exact visa for education needs to be applied and can provide end to end assistance on filing it.
You'll also have to pay the visa fee payment online it is non refundable and then book slot for biometric and appointment.
Just before appointment you need to go through biometric process this is usually done by vfs global for Europe and America. After that you'd need to attend an interview at the German consulate . You'd need to provide all proofs and documents.
