Need help cleaning up my credit card portfolio

Hi TF CC gurus, new member here. I'm not new to credit cards but I never cared about cashbacks or rewards before. But after coming across this forum, I realised how much I'm losing out.

Till now I ended up accepting any LTF credit card getting offered to me as I was using them to get credit card offers across various platforms. My idea was to spread and keep credit card utilisation to 30% for all credit cards.

In the end, I'm worried I have way too many credit cards as I keep getting rejected for cards I want ( HDFC Tata neu infinity, SBI cashback). I hope you can make some suggestions on adding / deleting credit cards to/ from my list. Here is my portfolio:

1. Amex Gold
2. Amex MRCC
3. Indusind Legend (LTF)
4. Amazon ICICI (LTF)
5. AIRTEL Axis
6. Flipkart Axis
7. Axis Neo (LTF)
8. RBL Duet card (LTF)
9. YES Finbooster (LTF)
10. Onecard CC (LTF)
11. Eazydiner indusind platinum (LTF)
12. Swiggy HDFC
13. IDFC First select (LTF)

I earn about 2L per month. My monthly spends used to be around 30k but they are now increasing as I'm travelling a lot and want to enjoy a while before settling down. I'm going to travel internationally so I can see my expenses ballooning to 1 L + per month.

Appreciate your suggestions. Thank you 😊

Isn't your mrcc card companion to gold charge. It's hard now but don't forget to ask amex for making mrcc a companion card to gold charge

Keep all LTF Cards except RBL. Get the Axis Neo converted to RuPay. Get HDFC Swiggy cancelled and after a couple months apply for a core card from HDFC. Cancel Flipkart Axis. Cancel any 1 of the two Amex Cards. Personally would cancel the MRCC.

Close Flipkart/axis Neo and swiggy opt for core cards of HDFC and apply for sbi cashback. Or indusind rupay PLATINUM. If your average spends on upi is more than 2k per transaction than go for kotak Myntra it's also good card.

All outsiders - like us - view each CC from our own point of view.

Only you know your exact spending pattern and the individual percieved specific need when you applied for all those cards and your future plans.

Depending ypon those, you are the best judge to decide either to keep or close each of those cards - or, add some other card(s).

Do not go by what outsiders - like us - say.

What is an exceptionally useful card for me may be a trash n useless card for you.

Do your own analysis and decide. You are no longer a newbie for CCs.

Ok I'll cancel the RBL and Flipkart. But can I know why RBL LTF in particular? Is RBL shady or something?

I use swiggy heavily and swiggy hdfc gives me good cashback (10%). What core card from HDFC should I look for which can give similar cashback/rewards ? I'm planning moving my salary account to HDFC. Would I benefit credit card application wise from it ?

If you are getting good benifits then don't need to close hdfc card.

But in the long run if you have cobranded card first it's very hard to get a core card. That is why he said to close and get a core card first and then cobranded cards will be easy to get

Thank you for your suggestions. I just want to know if having too many credit cards will affect my cibil score or not.

Oh snap ! I didn't know that. Thank you! I'll close swiggy hdfc first. Btw, do you know I can get Regalia gold LTF based on salary account?

SBI Simply Click
SBI Cashback
ICICI Amazon Pay
ICICI Accelero
ICICI Corel (Rupay)
HDFC Regalia
HDFC Tata Neu Infinity

Axis ace and Airtel are still good card for recharge and Bill payment and grocery purchase through bigbusket and all
My opinion keep them

If magnus renewal is coming then you can close it but check with customer care and retention team if they offer anything good

Keep sbi Cashback it's still the best

If you want you can close simply click and transfer the 90% limit to cashback card before closing. And if you need sbi 10% discount on sale, you can apply bpcl after few months since it has only 50k amc waiver

Keep apay and coral rupay ( i am assuming coral is LTF) if accelero is paid close it if LTF keep it.

Regalia and infinity you should keep even though they are paid. It will benefit you in the long run.

I am advising in general
You should also check your spending pattern and check if you are gaining from the cards or not after fees deduction if any.

Axis:
I don't believe it's a wise decision to stick with Axis Ace after its devaluation. I intend to close Ace and maintain Airtel. (Both are paid)
Magnus is available for free with a Burgundy account, but I may close because I am planning for Infina.

SBI:
Since SBI Cashback doesn't apply to sales, I'll keep both SBI Cashback and SBI Simply Click since they are both LTF.

ICICI:
Coral is filling the gap as Amazon Pay doesn't give full discounts on sales, and considering closing Accelero. (All are LTFs)

HDFC:
Both Regalia and Tata Infinity are LTF; I frequently use Tata One for UPI transactions, and there are no plans to close Regalia due to Infina upgrades.
