Anyone from Odisha here?
I'll be in Cuttack / Bhubaneswar for few hours. So, any restaurant recommended for authentic Odia cuisine? Veg or non-veg all recommendations are welcome.
Other than food, any important place that is worth visiting within few hours?
Thank you. Noted.![]()

OMG. Sooooo many good recommendations. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. This forum is sooooo helpful that I am out of words. Thanks a ton brother. Shall surerly visit one of these.Visit Odisha Hotel in Saheed Nagar Bhubaneswar for authentic odia cuisines. Must try their Odia style mutton curry and prawns. Its just 15 min drive from the airport.
You can also visit Dalma restaurant in Unit-4, Bhubaneswar. It also serves authentic odia food.
For authentic Odia sweets I would recommend Bikalananda Kar's sweet shop located at Rabi Talkies square. Venus Inn Sweets and Nimapada Sweets both located in Bapuji Nagar. Must try sweets include Salepur Rasagola, Chhena Poda, Chhena Jhili, Chhena Gaja, Sara Puri etc.
I would advise you to stay away from street food in this rainy season as it may be contaminated and may lead to stomach issues.
If you have only few hours of time then you can visit Dhauli Shanti Stupa which is about 30min drive from airport.
You can visit Lingaraj Temple which is dedicated to Shivji, which is just 15 mins drive from airport, Please have the prasad at Lingaraj or Anantanarayan temple (which is nearby) you will get the authentic odia dishes like Besara, Mahura etc.
You can spend the evening by the Bindusagar Lake near the Lingaraj Temple, it is soothing place.
You can also visit Khandagiri caves it will be 45 min drive from airport.
You can visit Nandankanan Zoological Park it will be more than an hour drive from airport on the other end of the city.
You can download MoBus app if you want to use public city bus transport in Bhubaneswar. It is cheap and connects most of the places but I only advise to use it if you have time because it's not punctual service.
Better to take a cab service of Ola or Uber if you've less time.
