Hello everyone,
I am planning for a Rajasthan trip in Feb'25 for 10 people (5 adults around 28 - 35 yrs, 2 kids of 2 yrs and 3 adults of 55 to 60 aged)
It will be first time for every person...
Please share your insights on how to plan the itinerary...
1) Which Cities to be covered and No. of days required for each city...
2) City and their important places to be covered (i can google this, but with limited time i can't cover all the places...so, looking for responses based on personal choices/experiences)
Any other advices, if you can provide....
I am planning to land in Jaipur airport and return from Udaipur airport....or vice versa.....
Share with me any good local travel vendor contact (based on the personal experience)
You can start by Jaipur (although can give a better advise from which city you're traveling to)
I have been to Rajasthan in Feb 2024 for a 7 day tour so can guide accordingly:
Day 1:
Land in Jaipur (if you've not booked hotels, then I can suggest staying in Ginger Jaipur. Budget stay, complimentary meals. Good rooms and location is also good.)
Best is to land around late afternoon. Check-in at hotel, freshen up, take some rest and in the evening head to Birla Mandir. Enjoy the beautiful ambience there, take dinner and have some good sleep.
Day 2:
Early morning, have breakfast, then head straight to Hawa Mahal, then to Amber Fort, then to Jaigarh (for not more than 30-45 min) and spend late afternoon to evening in Nahargarh Fort.
Day 3:
Early morning, have breakfast, then head to Jantar Mantar and City Palace and spend the rest of the time in local bazaars and in the evening can head to Chokhi Dhani (if interested).
Day 4:
Early morning, have breakfast, Check-out from the hotel and head to Pushkar. Visit the Brahma Temple, take blessings, spend some time in the nearby bazaar and then have dinner and catch the late night train to Udaipur.
Day 5:
Arrive early morning in Udaipur, Check-in hotel, take some rest and in the late morning to afternoon, head to Fateh Sagar Lake. Enjoy the boat rides and can then visit Saheliyon ki Bari and then next head to City Palace. In the evening enjoy the boat ride in Lake Pichola, the scenic view of Taj Lake Palace and more. The glittering lights in the evening is very beautiful.
Day 6:
Early Morning, have breakfast, can head to Ekling ji and then Srinath ji in the outskirts and then visit the Maharana Pratap Museum and alongside have a glance of Haldighati and visit the Chetak Smarak nearby. Late afternoon, head to Sajjangarh Fort and enjoy the evening view.
Day 7: If want can visit the Chittorgarh Fort which can be covered to and fro Udaipur in one day
Day 8: If you want, can take rest, visit the nearby bazaars and then take flight from Udaipur the next day or if you want can return from Udaipur in Day 8 only.
*** Beyond this I've not covered Rajasthan. I am not sure regarding all the other places. I've given my itenerary where you can visit all these places and enjoy thoroughly without rushing.
**** Advised Ginger Jaipur because I've stayed there and had a good time. Also, they have tie-up with cabs and the cab conditions and drivers are also very good. I have experience it first hand so can vouch for it. (The hotel staff would give you a number to talk with the travel agent, ask him to check if Ajit is available. He is a very experienced driver and have knowledge of all the places and will guide you correctly.)
STRONGLY ADVISE: Avoid guides at all cost. Especially in Jaipur. Even if you get hold of one, do not buy anything from the stores they make you visit. If you want to save your hard earned stay very very far away from them.
