Hii, the problem is.. I actually did my cc bill payments of around 3.8L through Axis bank.official site they have freecharge as their partner. But money got deducted and now transaction just said timed out freecharge end. I obviously don't have 4L more.lying around. I always pay before due date but this time there were many issues which I will explain later on. But today's due date what should I do? My bank - CITIBANK card - AXIS ATLAS

Give it 3 hours and check again.

It should be received on your credit card, or it will reflect back on your account. You can try again.

If that doesn't happen and you don't have more 4L to sort it out, you might want to take a personal loan or something (they have lesser interest + will.save you from the late payment charges)

Or you can try for a balance transfer to HDFC or other cards.if that's a possibility

I mean it isn't a situation where I will.need a personal loan. I could just ask my family and return them once the failed transaction credits. But still I want that to be dead last option

I am in the same boat. Paid 25k via Axis Pay My Dues. Money was debited but there are no signs of transaction anywhere.

Arrange Funds from somewhere else and clear your dues for the time being.
Never using those cheaters again. Hoping it's not anothing cheap trick to make customers over there due date. By failed transactions.

It happened with me last month. But transaction appeared as successful payment within 48 hours. But I had made the payment with 5 to 7 days remaining. So, I was not worried. This is very common error in case of freecharge. Most of the payments are successful.
What you can do is contact Axis and ask them to provide 2 days extra to clear dues.
I heard somewhere that there is always a grace period of 2 to 3 days for each and every card.

Below is the extract from RBI Master Directions:

Card-issuers shall report a credit card account as 'past due' to credit information companies (CICs) or levy penal charges, viz. late payment charges and other related charges, if any, only when a credit card account remains 'past due' for more than three days. The number of 'days past due' and late payment charges shall, however, be computed from the payment due date mentioned in the credit card statement, as specified under the regulatory instructions on ‘Prudential norms on Income Recognition, Asset Classification and Provisioning pertaining to Advances’ amended from time to time. Penal interest, late payment charges and other related charges shall be levied only on the outstanding amount after the due date and not on the total amount.
