Axis Atlas Needed help on a chargeback request to Axis bank (Service deficiency from a merchant)

Hi everyone,
I am in middle of a dispute with a merchant on a travel package.
total of 1.4L paid in axis card

After payment, the agent started not responding properly and not honouring what was promised in the package (telling this hotel is not possible, that option is not possible).
I have raised a charge back dispute with axis bank quoting service deficiency from merchant.
Last 5 days I have sent many mails to that travel agent to respond and acknowledge - give the package as promised.
No response what so ever. I should now book my own itinerary.

A temporary credit is provided by Axis bank yesterday.
I heard axis will simply revoke the temporary credit in two weeks and takes merchant sides sometimes. I am worried about the process and time. Will Axis Dispute team ask me any proofs or documents? Is there anyway for me to approach the disputes team - because Customer care says I can't.

In general, what are the odds that Axis understands and takes my side in settlement?

Any of your personal experiences in this regards can help! It is huge amount, hence i have no option except to fight.
What should be my next steps while the investigation is ON?

Customer care is correct.
unless there is a clear case of cheating, (which you will have to prove) you will not get a charge back or refund.

Whatever you are demanding from the agent, is it mentioned under inclusions in writing?

I once ordered some clothes from a fairly new, not-so-popular website. Even after 10 days, my order hadn’t been dispatched. I tried reaching out to the merchant multiple times via email, but got no response.

So, I contacted Axis Bank, explained the situation, and they immediately provided a temporary credit while they investigated. Surprisingly, they didn’t ask for any documents or proof.

Since my bill had already been generated, I went ahead and paid it, then pretty much forgot about the whole thing. A few days later, the case was resolved in my favor—Axis removed the temporary credit and refunded my money.

Ironically, the merchant ended up delivering the order in between of the above process. I informed Axis about it and asked them to cancel the credit and drop the case, but still received the money.

Now, who’s the real generous one here—Axis Bank or the merchant? 🤷‍♂️

Just wanted to share the experience, hope it helps a bit.......

1) You are plain lucky !!
2) 🪓 followed their process
3) the new and not so popular website was trying to build the business and trust with the customer base.. this is the main point here…
Glad to hear that you had experienced a positive experience from this little messed up transaction…

Nothing signed. But this is how many fraud / disputed transactions will be right? Especially a travel itinerary.
There is a proof of payment and their acknowledgement.
This is why one should avoid booking through independent agents and instead opt for reputable companies. Although it may cost a bit more, it ensures superior services and, most importantly, peace of mind.
