Offered upgrade from ICICI Rubyx to ICICI Sapphiro - for 6,500 one time fee - worth it?

Hi,

I received a call yesterday from ICICI representative. I was offered upgrade on my existing ICICI Rubyx card (limit Rs. 7,80,000) to Sapphiro. The person also said that my limit would also increase. This current card is LTF. I would be charged a one time joining fee of Rs. 6,500 (I would get equivalent vouchers apparently), and then the card would be LTF. Should I go for it? I am tempted by 1+1 movie offer on BMS, upto 400 off. Can someone please tell if it is quota based? I do have movie offers on other cards, but they are upto 200 off and also only on Paytm (a few cinemas in my area are only on BMS, City Pride for instance). Attaching the brochure sales person sent me.

NO . . only if it is LTF..
no ICICI card is worth paid or FYF .. ( may be in some case paid Emeralde may be ok)...

No way to pay for ICICI card... Poor reward rates. Bargain for LTF!!

If you’re just tempted towards BOGO movie offer, you can look for IDFC wealth CC which is LTF.

Can you elaborate more on "One TIme Fee"? If its really one-time, you can consider going for it.

I also got same call for my uncle's card yesterday. Doesnt felt genuine. So asked them to send email regarding one time fee only.
Nothing sent till now.

I keep on getting these calls for icici and indus ind cards to pay one time fees and get useless vouchers in return and make new card ltf.
I never budge, patiently waiting for pre approved upgrade offers.

Don't upgrade until it is one time fee in written. These days agents lie a lot to sell you cards. I pretty sure it could be very well be an agent rather than ICICI employee. Also, the BOGO tickets are quota based, you are not guaranteed of the offer.
