Pay other bank credit card bill from hdfc bill payment by hdfc credit card

BillPay shouldn't show paying by credit card as an option in the first place if it is not supposed to work!

I received call few days ago after paying my cc bill of 55k through their bill pay portal using hdfc platinum DC
They asked me whether the cc belongs to me or not?
They may discont this anytime
yes, payment using hdfc cc is available for few cards which are associated with bill desk
in simple words if they ask u last 4 digits of cc and reg mobile num then that bill can be paid using hdfc cc They provide this opt during payment
Let's not try to be "oversmart" and try to exploit all loopholes (i.e. with full knowledge that that type of usage was not actually intended).

They r willingly providing the cashback for all bill payments
I don't think it's a loophole and they know this
they r generally providing cashback like many other credit and debit cards
ultimately No one is stealing or no one is losing here
That money is HDFC's property until they, wittingly, give that as cashback!
If, on the other hand, that money is taken by exploiting HDFC's lack of knowledge of some unintended manner, -- that would be stealing in effect!
It's ridiculous to censure someone just because he happened to ask the Bank directly for clarification!

If the cashback is given wittingly, then there is no issue.
Either way, there should be no problem at all in asking the Bank directly for clarification on any doubts whatsoever! So it's absurd to rebuke someone for doing just that!

And that's where the issue is. Credit card bills are not supposed to be give cashback as they are not utility bills. HDFC gives cashback only for utility and clearly says so in their terms and conditions while categorically denying cc bills as cashback giving category.
But they have still been giving it for a long time enough and are probably aware of it since the number of people getting cashback using cc bill payments might be less.
However, making them aware of the same is absolutely not a smart idea. You want to test the theory? Go call any HDFC bank customer care agents and they will categorically deny that cc bills give cashback.
So don't make a big deal out of me saying, humara dhandha bandh karwaoge kya. We are all at the mercy of the bank and this will end one day. It's just a matter of when. Countless other banks have already closed/fixed their loopholes. We should not be the folks to help them get knowledge on leaks faster unless yahan sab Harishchandra hain in which case, what is even the point of this thread and forum?!
