Pay via Paytm Wallet works and doesn't work.

I have around 5k paytm balance in wallet. Sometimes when i scan a QR code in Jio mart i get option to pay through Paytm Wallet which is good.

Sometimes when i scan a QR code where seller is road side tea shop, Paytm Wallet doesnt come instead it shows Pay by UPI Account . But why ?

Since i have a paytm wallet balance why that option doesn't come everytime . From what i saw that pay by paytm balance options comes for good reputed shops. Is this true ?

the recipient qr should be registered as a merchant. roadside vendors have a personal qr mostly. my guess.

Hmmm even i think the same, it depends on merchant registration.

Where there is QR code sourced by paytm is used,wallet balance works fine as paytm gives option to merchant to take payment without any charges(as merchant can transfer the money from wallet to bank account without any charges) but other QR codes don't provide this freedom.In those cases paytm transfers from bank to bank directly.

It depends on merchant account settings. There is an option called payment source like wallet, paytm bank, upi, dc, cc, paytm postpaid. Whichever is enabled, will appear while payment.
