Paying Income Tax using CC to hit spend criteria for Infinia

Is it a viable option to pay the income tax of me and my family members to hit the 7.5L spends criteria required for Infinia? I have a regalia gold with a limit of over 8L. Right now, I am short 2L and by the time I have to pay the taxes it will be about 3.5L. Will this be an issue for HDFC?

Paying taxes for 2-3 people in my family will comfortably put me above the 7.5L threshold and yes, I am aware of the 0.4-0.7% + GST charged when paying IT using a CC. I am not concerned about this as I can easily recover this amount after I get the Infinia CC.

Please I do not need any unnecessary opinions on how "if you can't spend then card isn't for you" or "try moving all spends instead and wait". Thanks.

and in the end hdfc has the power to approve or deny your infinia upgrade

I don't care about the rewards points on this card as the goal is to upgrade

Hi, spend pattern is one of the criteria and not the only criteria, I would suggest contact RM/BM and ask them to push your upgrade.
I see these days it has become more stringent to offer an upgrade
