Please Help! Extra 'MR' in Name in Vietjet Ticket.

Hi everyone,

I had booked two Vietjet tickets through HDFC Smartbuy. The confirmation I received from HDFC had correct name. When I downloaded the tickets from official vietjet site, I see that there is an extra 'MR' in my name at the end. I mailed Vietjet and they said to contact travel agency, but travel agency had sent me details with correct names. Please let me know if anyone else experienced this and how to correct this.

Example:
"Last, First MR"

This is fine. This extra MR is abbreviated Mister which is used at the beginning. It won’t cause any issues

I too have the same concern, but don't think it will be an issue. Just checking if you were able to travel and if it caused any issue?

Hello, I am planning to book Vietjet Airlines for my upcoming Delhi to Bali trip (as its the cheaper alternative to Thai Airways). Wanted to know your experience with VietJet Air.
I have read horrible reviews of Vietjet air related to flight cancellations, poor customer support, flight reschedules (where rescheduled flight is 7 days later). Please help.
 
Personal suggestion, During checkin VietJet may try to extort some money from you in the name of correction. Just say you had a conversation with the airlines support team and they said it's okay in an aggressive tone.

Same incident was happened with me, my wife didn't have last name on her passport, So as per standard practise i use same name in first name & last name as usual (Never had any problem, used same in British Airway, Thai Airway, Vietnam airlines and many more)

VJ started crying and started asking for ~~ 1000 (i don't remember the exact amount in $$ ) for the name correction. I told them i cross verified this with there team and they said it's okay.

Also, when you checkin you can see 10-15 people fighting with them on a separate counter as they will be charging them for something or other. 🤣 🤣 Very common with VJ

  1. They don't have voice support in India, only support mail is available.
  2. They will try to charge your for everything. Be very careful while booking tickets. Better book from their own website (You will get more cheaper rates).
  3. Purchase seat while booking or book with the plan where there is a free seat & luggage included. There prices for same at counter are higher and they don't offer free seats at counter like other airlines.
  4. They will try to find a way to extort some money from you. Be very careful with Visa's, Tickets and other applicable documents.
Overall, There international flights are mostly empty and you can sleep peacefully occupying nearby seats.

I had two Vietjet flights.
The first mornjng one was cancelled and we were moved to a different flight in afternoon. When I asked in counter they said its on time in afternoon, that also got delayed. So total 4 hours delay.
The second flight was delayed by 3 hours.

Had a slight different experience.
Agree with 1.
For 2, if you don't have check in luggage, book from their site. Else book from smartbuy. Cz in the site, if you add luggage the price would be almost same. But yeah you can check and decide.
For 3, my ticket had a free luggage but not seat. They did not charge me in the counter for the seat.
Completely agree with 4. They will find some or the other way. Ensure your cabin baggage doesn't cross 7kg. For ladies, they count both their purse and cabin baggage for total weight calculation.
